I got a 360 for halo 3 a long time ago. However, sooo many great games are out for it right now regardless of halo that I am in awe of how many games I own. 29!!!! For me, that is SOO much. I know others are worse, haha
But I'm not into MGS4 that much. I would start again and purchase a ps3 just for FF13 and Star Ocean, but with news, I am starting to worry about the ps3
I doubt anyone actually buys a system, and for the lifespan of that system, only buys and plays one game.
I have a 360, which i play exclusives and multiplats on. I got a PS3 primarily for FFXIII, but thats not to say its the only game ill get. Ive had heaps of fun with Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted and then theres MGS4, LBP etc. on the way which ill get as well. Only difference is that i dont think ill be getting multiplats on the PS3, ill leave that to the 360.
My poilcy is there has to be at least 4 games available at the time of purchase that I want NOW and at least another 4 coming down the pipe with solid release dates.
I broke that rule twice this gen with the 360 and the PS3 because of XBLA and PSN. They are good fillers. Plus the PS3 is a Bluray player and I'm sort of a movie nut, so I gave it a pass. I don't regret either decision.
Many games to choose from on any console so one game for one console does not happen. Atleast I hope it does not that would be crazy. Although I might here someone say I will get the console and the one game and then sell it after I finish it that would not surprise me.
From what I've heard, people are buying the special PS3 collectible system for the game (that shall not be named) & after they finish the game, they will sell the entire system & game to get most of their money back. So these are temporary PS3 owners. Some even think they can pull a profit & get more cash than what they paid for it. I guess they'll have to do this for every PS3 exclusive release.

lol Biggest pile of MGS4 damage control I've ever heard.
I know this sounds odd but why buy 1 system just becuase of one game? I can understand if its like 10 games coming out or this is the last game you would want to convince your self but why buy a $300 and up system just for one 60 dollar game? This happened with halo where people bought a 300-350 xbox a 50 dollar live card and 60 dollar halo, and now people are saying it with mgs4. I know someone can really really really like a game but it seems pretty pricey. Why?mysockshurt
Most games on consoles are multiplatforms so, the "system sellers" are more like deal clinchers. Also having a well paid job helps quite a lot :P
Because that one game is MGS4.
Boom.

Reading through edge magazine, the uk's biggest independant multi-platform games magazine, that one game also got an 8 out of 10

Ignore all the other reviews if you want to, that's what I would do too if I was going to damage control a great game. :)

My IQ dropped a lot after reading this.
Thanks bud:roll:
lol i know its going to be a great game, but there are a few reviews giving it 8's Edge , games tm , and euro gamer, it has an average on gamerankings of 91.5 which puts it at over 100th place on gamerankings.

I'm not lying. I'm serious! A lot of people on that message board made fun of him for bragging about how he went to the Konami site to by the PS3 special edition. When we informed him that there was no backwards compatibility, he stated something about selling it after he was done & collecting a profit from it. He said he was going to sell it so he can buy a PS3 for a bigger hdd. He was ignorant of the fact that he could replace the one in his system, which I had to relay to him. That upgradability for the PS3's hdd is one of the coolest things I wish the 360 had implemented. If I ever planned to buy a PS3, I would get one that had BC to PS2 games so I could have the entire PS1-PS3 library at my disposal. I once checked on the prices of those BC-supported PS3s & the 80G one is through the roof! Something like $700 new...it really annoys me. Currently I don't have the time to be a dual console owner & one game for one console doesn't make sense.

I did not know Edge has the top spot I thought it was Eurogamer.com?

Let's wait till some other reviews come along. Either way, Eurogamer and Edge gave similar scores to Gears of War, look how that did.
I bought each of the systems I owned for many titles.
A bigger question would be, "Who can honestly look at any of the game librarys of any of the current systems and only see one game that appeals to you?"
I know, people with biases are going to say that they could, but I think any open-minded gamer would at least find a couple games that they could enjoy if they looked honestly.

Gears completely deserved an 8 (talking about Edge atleast) imo though, i mean i dont get why everyone thinks that game was so good.Ask the xbox fanboys why they bought the xbox for Halo.coltsfan4ever
to be honest i did buy the 360 for halo 3...but before that i ended buying other games which means i ended up not only buying it for halo 3
i guarantee you these are the biggest reasons people buy 360's
1. halo 3
2. gta4
3. cod4
4. guitar hero 3
for instance, i bought the 360 for halo 3, and was really dissapointed. i bought the xbox 1 for halo 2. i really swear i probably clocked with my neighbor over 300 hours on halo 2, it was the only game we would play. but halo 3 is terrible.
