Why would you compare 360 and PC but not Wii/PS3 and PC?

Why is the PC considered an alternative to the 360, but not the other consoles? I don't get it. The PC has existed for decades now. Why, all of the sudden, is the PC being singled out as an alternative to 360 when really, it is an alternative to console gaming in general and has been for years?

I guess because it shares more exclusives with the 360 than any other console. Off the top of my head, only the Agency is shared with the PC and NOT the 360 on the Ps3 front.

I think their is another one too....

the PC actually shares a lot of games with the Wii too, but they are mostly of the shareware mini-game variety.

So isn't that an...ADVANTAGE? I mean if you could get PC games that would have otherwise been only on PC but not pay as much or have to upgrade one to play those games...isn't that a good thing? I just don't get why people make it a negative thing that you can play stellar PC games on your 360

Because the 360 and PC share a vast number of exclusives and PC gaming is influenced by the same company that makes the 360.

yep the PC and 360 share a lot of the same games, and a lot of the devs on the 360 came from the PC space.

PC games tend to become less stellar when ported to consoles. See FEAR and Supreme Commander for delicious details.

And that would be an advantage for the 360, not for the PC.

I would guess that the two bump heads more often because the 360 is closer to the PC in terms of AA/AAAs than the Wii and PS3.
