Wii - Besides SMG, MP3, is there any game that is graphically better than PS2?

This is pretty sad. I know Wii can't push graphics like Xbox 360 and PS3. However, according to the specs, Wii is SUPPOSED to be able to produce graphics better than Gamecube. Gamecube generally had graphics better than PS2. Ok, so if Wii has the ability to have graphics > GC, then why is it most Wii games can't even surpass PS2 graphically? Actually...nevermind...I know the answer...DEVELOPERS ARE NOT TRYING HARD ENOUGH. Poor sheep. I like how No More Heroes driving segments have graphics WORSE than GTA III and more pop-in...this when the outside areas are far LESS populated than GTA III. This is just one example.

Like I said, I usually don't complain about graphics too much, but this is getting ridiculous. Wii is capable of more and NO ONE OTHER THAN NINTENDO is pushing the hardware...

i think the conduit is lookin pretty good. i think it couldn't have been on gamecube.

If that's above the gamecube it's barely stronger.

you could say okami and no more heroes, those games are both pleasant to the eyes, but there also third party, you could consider them better i would thinklinkin_guy109

Okami is a PS2 port. I have Okami Wii, and I've seen videos of Okami on PS2. The Wii version does have widescreen, yes, but the colors are actually MORE washed out than the PS2 version from what I've seen. No More Heroes is graphically awful in the outside areas when you are walking or driving. So much pop-in. A ridiculous amount of jaggies too.

the jaggies were put there on purpose, its supposed to make it look more like a rough copy of a comic book :P

My conclusion is that the developers are lazy. I don't think Super Mario Galaxy could be done on Gamecube easily without framerate problems.

Yeah I did. The hardware is there, giving devs the potential to make a great looking game like Galaxy. But many make games that look PS2 quality or worse. Now let's hope it's clear :P

You can add SSBB on that list.

Hell...if anything SSBB looks better than MP3.

Maybe the developers focus more on gameplay and use of motion control rather than the highest possible quality of graphics?ONLYDOD

Losing my touch? I posted a thread with an opinion that most Wii games (other than SMG and MP3) look worse than PS2 games. I'm not comparing Wii games to 1st generation PS2 titles. I'm talking about finding Wii games that SURPASS God of War 2 graphically. Those are very difficult to find on Wii imo. Most Wii games are not surpassing the best graphics the PS2 has to offer. Wii is more than capable, but developers are lazy. I'm not sure what is wrong with this thread...

I can definitely agree about NMH... the open world has poor visuals from a technical standpoint, but the art direction was great.

The Conduit looks better than most Wii games, but the art is pretty generic.

I think Nintendo has pushed the console more than most since Ubisoft, EA, and other 3rd party devs... but if I wanted amazing graphics, I'd buy a 360, PS3 or upgrade my PC. Still, the Wii can pull off some great visuals, but most haven't tried hard to make a good looking game.
