Just bought Super Mario Galaxy, and although the controls for it were kind of cool, there was noticeable times when it was getting on my nerves. I just found precision jumping a bit harder than with a controller, and timing the spinning attack to hit units was a bit tricky. I was thinking that the controls were just an alternative at best, and frustrating at worst. However, I was just trying out Dragonball Z 3 for the Wii, and it is ridiculously fun. I don't even like Dragonball Z, the concept to me makes no sense, I don't understand the story, and I don't really enjoy fighting games besides old school Mortal Kombat. The wii controls however take this game that I wouldn't be interesting in all, and make it enjoyable. There are times where I can't pull off the super-attacks, but it's almost part of the fun as you get 3-4 opportunities per game to do your wave attacks, and if you **** it up, your going to lose. While I thought it could be annoying with Super Mario (although it's not as bad now, i'm just chucking starbits are enemies now), I am now convinced that the Wii controls do add to the experience, unlike a month ago or so, when I thought it was going to be BS to have to play with the Remote/Nunchuck. Nintendo has made me a believer.

Yeah Wii controls when done right add to the experience and to the immersion imo.

Didn't play DBZ T3 but the DBZ T2 on Wii was a lot of fun, more fun then Tenkaichi 1 on PS2 anyway.

Try some shooters like Metroid Prime 3 and Medal of Honor Heroes 2 - as well as games like Zack & Wiki, Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition and Trauma Center. They will make an even stronger believer out of you. :)

3 of 5 nominees of best use of control themes are Wii games. That says a lot.

And MP3, Z&W and Galaxy aren't even in there... I'm sure that cuz there weren't enough spaces.

Mario Galaxy does it excellent yea.

Shame Zelda : TP didnt, feels slugish, unresponsive ( while slashing ) , aiming is fine though.

Then again I find Zelda : TP to be outdated for its time, bland looking and allround not great :I

It just feels different when holding the nunchuk and wii remote, probably not the best example, but I was just saying how it felt a little wierd to me. A better example is the spinning punch attack is a little hard to time perfectly, and the backflip jumps and long jump is a bit trickier.

Wii Sports and Wii Play, too, obviously. Yeah, Wii Play wasn't that good, but it was for a ten dollar game. The aiming in Tanks was a lot easier thanks to the pointer the Wii has.

Mario Party 8 also has a few good mini games that really utilize the Wii Remote. That one where you have to set off the booby (Lawlz, booby.) traps by clicking on them would be way too hard with a normal controller.

I also liked the controls in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz. It made it a lot more entertaining. A lot of people thought it was too sensative, but I thought they were fine.

Like just about any platformer, the depth perseption is always a tricky peice. when jumping, get up beside them, not run up forward twords them. And jumps I suggest you do I spin mid air. The tiny bit of extra air time helps. These don't really seem like control issues though, they're just what platformers do, all of them.

Yeah thats good thing about the Wii, games like this are so much better now, like RE:4 and the Metroid Prime games have really been made a lot better with thesecontrols (waiting for Retro to realease Prime 1 and 2 on Wii), Trauma centre was basically made for the Wii and Zach and Wiki just wouldn't be the same without them. Anyway yeah while they can make a game so muchbetter, if done wrong can RUIN the entire game.

I think the problem with SMG's jumping is more camera/setting based; the camera isn't the best and when you're jumping onto walls or the like it can be hard to judge where you will land. I found SMG did a great job of using the Wiimote, especially on the mini-game levels.

I have to agree with the Zelda, the motion controls felt tacked on. I think the best WII games ground up are based, around the WII controller. The third party ports really suck as they are the same games as the other consoles with worse graphics, sound and gimicky controls.

I found that aiming with the bow with the wiimote was vaslty superior to aiming in WW or OOT...but yeah, other than that it was all tacked on. Part of the reason was because TP was a GC game, not a wii game...and gC games don't have motion controls. I look forward to a wii exclusive zelda that is not held back by the wavebird.

Yeah, but honestly, the only Wii game that has had weird controls to me so far, believe it or not, is Mario and Sonic at The Olympic Games. I guess people are just too stupid to shake a remote nowadays, and thus blame the Wii.
