Wii demand is still absolutely insane

i check 2 local best buys and 3 eb games, all are endlessly sold out of wiis, the one day i saw one, some lady got it b4 i got over thereshadow_hosi

yeah. i check my local EB games whenenver i'm near by one and they are usually all sold out. when they are there, there's only 1 left.

yes the wii is still sold out, but thats because of low production. if nintendo can get production up they will suffer next year as the other two consoles get price cuts. i think the cuts start in november. the wii has demand because it's the cheapest. when the 360 is cheaper the 360 will get that demand. the wii sell outs also mean they aren't building up stock for christmas, when 1/2 of all retail sales happen. the wii will be in 3rd place dureing the most important time of the year. that may let sony catch up, and the 360 is going to pull very far ahead. the wii has sold about 6 million units total in 8 months. with a $100 price cut the 360 will sell more than that in november and december alone, and maybe just in december. rdo

Pretty sure the Wii has the highest production of any console this early into the life of a console. Hell, maybe the most ever.

I don't see how that's possible. Someone said they are shipping 1 Million per month. If the PS2 shipped less than that then there's no mathematical way it would have sold 100 Million, which it did.

So during lunch I went to my local EBGames to see if I could finally get a Wii. The guy told me that they were sold out. He said that they received 80 Wiis yesterday, and they were ALL sold by the end of the day. And this is just one tiny little store.Number_1_Gamer

I just can't understand why it's so popular. Do people see it and think "oh that looks like an ipod it must be cool!" and buy it? There is NOTHING to play on it, it's weak, it's controls are gimmicky and end up becoming really boring.

3. 6 million in 2 months? Even christmas months that is insane. Microsoft even said they hope to have 4 million SHIPPED for the holidays, much less sold
