I don't care about the characters, I care about the gameplay. If you think the gameplay of the Super Smash Brothers series is deeper or better than Soul Calibur or Tekken... well, you must be a very casual gamer.
Im a huge fan of the genre and I say otherwise.
If you want to play Tekken 5: Dark Ressurection or Dead or Alive 4 online I'm down anytime. Of course, it sounds like you only have a Wii which means you miss out on every decent fighting game.

Well, it can be easily said that every fighter has its share of people who try and button mash their way through it, but on a whole, the SS games are more fit for those types than conventional fighting games such as Tekken and Soul Calibur.

Um, do you know when the term "button masher" applies to fighters? You can pull off moves in any fighter just by pressing random buttons. However, in fighters with fleshed out fighting systems, those moves will most likely be weak, or will be blocked, countered, or reversed.
Basically you aren't going to succeed by just mashing buttons. Its not even that easy to beat the computer in Tekken if you are just mashing buttons, let alone an average (or better) player.
Calling Tekken or VF a "button masher" in any way is a complete and total failure.

You're joking? I know for a fact you can beat Tekken/SC campaign modes by button mashing as I have seen it done .. sure against a "pro" player that most likely would not work .. but really .. against computers and the like .. button mashing works.

Of course there are people who button mash, but that tells more about the player rather than the game. Of all the games to pick too Tekken is a series that really, really is tough if you're just matching buttons. Tekken has extremely close ranges when you're fighting since you eliminate weapon/range attacks. This means that the timing of the attacks and blocks is EXTREMELY sensitive and thats not even GETTING intomoves like parries, counters, etc. the timing on these are INSANE. So if you're mashing buttons and you're playing someone who knows even the basics of this game you are going to lose very quickly.
I mean, Soul Calibur is a little more easy to mash buttons, but the depth of the weapon based combat is amazing. I've really never heard anyone who likes SSBB Soul Calibur/Tekken/Virtua Fighter a button masher.
:?

Tales of Symphonia looks good, as does Monster Hunter 3 and I'm sorry but I haven't heard of the other games.
Here are a hand full of titles that don't get mentioned much that I am interested in...I'd add Sadness but honestly I think it's pretty much dead...
Alone in the Dark
Horror Action Adventure
Disaster: Day of Crisis
Action (sorry couldn't find screenshots...)
Dragon Quest Swords
RPG
Project O (working title)
RPG(?)
Obscure: The Aftermath
Horror Action Adventure
Opoona
Sci-fi RPG
Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution
Historic Turn-Based Strategy
Tales of Symphonia: Knight of Ratatosk
RPG

Your wrong. Does Wii Music exist?
Still, that is 2 more than the 360 has, right? That's the only reason I don't go into more detail of the Wii's 08 lineup. So you can't, hehe.
Fable 2, Halo Wars, what else?
Oh yeah, nothing that we consider a "big game" on this site.
Why don't you argue with me about it, hehe.
Wii is slowly killing gaming with the abomination 'Wii sports' and the up coming casuals only 'wii fit' it also misses out on multiplates and has awful ports and graphics power so i have a love hate relationship with it.thegoldenpoo

Burnout paradise, Devil Mary Cry 4, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Metal Gear Solid 4, Army of 2, Condemned 2, Tom Clancy's EndWar, Rainbow Six 2, GTA4, Heavy Rain, GT5, Ninja Gaiden 2, Fable 2, Halo Wars, SoulCalibur IV, and Battlefield Bad Company. Good enough? Most of these games have the potential to be at least AA.
This isn't saying te Wii lineup is bad, as I own a Wii myself. I just don't like it when people say other consoles don't have games

I didn't say it couldn't be done, I said it wouldn't be easy, especially on the harder difficulties. The last bosses in Tekken have a reputation of being cheap, especially by inexperienced players.
Tekken, Soul Calibur, and VF are incredibly popular because of how deep their fighting systems are. These systems were created for balance and to prevent a player from "randomly" beating another by just spamming the buttons. I really have no need to discuss this issue further with you, its a fact. Accept it and move on.
Try playing Tekken's force mode button mashing...won't get through the first level.

Yeah i'm sure SSBB is better then MGS4, FFXIII, FFXIII Versus, God of War 3 (you didn't say only 08), etc.

Sorry buddy but maybe you should do some research on it because No More Heroes isn't a casual, I mean it doesn't even appeal to them. By that I mean Zach and Wiki appeal to casuals because it's kid friendly looking cover and graphics (nothing against though I love them), but in the end was a hardcore game.

I don't think you can make fun of SSBB. It was one of the biggest sellers last gen and people still play it to this day even though the game doesn't have online. This is a very much anticipated game and it's very much on the level of Halo/MGS/FF/etc. type game. Heck, just the rumors of it being pushed back is setting the internet on fire. I'm hoping this isn't true as I'm definitely purchasing this day 1.
