After both the 360 elite and PS3 slim became $300 and the industry indicate that current HD console production costs are around the $250-$300.

Do you want to see Nintendo make the same approach they did this generation with their Wii next-gen, which means providing PS3/360 technology for their next-gen and call it the Wii HD and sell it for $300?

Or do you want a bigger jump in technology from Nintendo next-gen to produce for their Super Wii ( I like the name, its like Super NES )/Wii HD or whatever you want to call with a price tag thats around the $400?

For me I would appreciate a PS3/360 Nintendo console but I prefer a next-gen nintendo Wii with better graphics and capabilities than both PS3 and 360 and I don't mind the higher price tag.

Discuss.

I would rather wait till Ntntendo can sell a HD for less than $300, Nintendo will not sell a system at a loss. So I expect it will be a few more years.

Wont be called Wii HD... and probably would just scratch ahead the current xbox and playstation consoles thus it wouldn't be able to do more than 720p/1080i/p. Its clear as crystal that nintendo will take a similar aproach to hardware as they have done with the Wii($$) at best I see them spending most of their budget on improving controllers/peripherals.

if you mean a next gen console like ps4/720 then i'd like them to compete with the power of ps4/720, but i mainly want them to refine the motion controls. hopefully a gens experience should allow them to perfect the controls and know when to use them.

All I'm hoping for is integrated Motion Plus. The only thing stopping me from buying a Wii is the thought of spending $30 for every additional Motion Plus, Nunchuk and Wii mote I have to buy. It ends up costing more than the PS3!

for the time being no new wii will come out. nintendo have released just ONE model of the wii. no variations whatsoever and yet they are still selling bucket loads and their pockets are lined quite nicely. maybe in a couple of years when the sales dry up we might see a high-def console with some decent titles for proper gamers as well.

Im assuming someone that has spent the majority of their time in gaming with Brain Training or Wii sports.

i used to nintendo power. with them trying their best to have good hardware that can give the others a run for their money in graphics. think thats why i was so upset with nintendo this gen. they seemed to turn to what they do in the handheld market. thats make cheap upgrades to the handheld of last gen.

Pushing the hardware as far as You can is just stupid.

Diminishing returns.
Devs on the edge.
Gaming improving very little.
Prices soaring.
Consoles failing.

Look at this generation and learn.

Why do I get the feeling if Nintendo does go through with HD, that the graphics will be just minimal?

nintendo wii is a fluke. it wont work again next gen. with the wii being the most unplayed system i ever seen. i cant see people rushing out and buying a wii hd or wii 2 whenthey barely used the wii. nintendo needs a a whole new game plan imo.
