Wii is lacking...

Dude the wii has the potential to be number one but fails in execution. Any one else feels this way?

The Wii needs more (good) games.

I has a whopping 5 games to be rated AA or higher this entire year. 5......the wii is a horrible console.

the ps3 and 360 have 19 and 18 respectivly.

Dude you cant download music and play it during game-play, nor can you play dvds and there on-line is sooooo mundane.

Anyone who says the wii has plenty of good games is in denial. I agree with almost everything said, great console, needs more decent games. I find myself only using it for virtual console games lately.

And in response to someone bashing the wii for lack of DVD playback, I have DVD player to play DVD's. Oddly enough.

i agree. at the mo thats wiis major weakness imho. its even worse in europe where were still waiting for MP3 and just got super paper mario (pitty us :( ). however by this time next year i think the wii will really be hitting its stride. around christmas and early 08 theres the big 3, zack and wiki, kart and no more heros...all of which look promising imho. theres a few more but i cant remember them off hand.

the other area that nintendo need to get sorted is the online element. at the mo its way to restricted. stupid limitations are put on online play unless ure playing with a friend, which is just plain idiotic imho. the lack of any way to communicate on wii is also very poor and severly diminishes the benefits of online play. ninty really do need to get this sorted asap. thankfully they can as theres nothing fundimentally wrong with the wii in that regard. the OS can be updated and a bluetooth headset is not exactly rocket science. the service is also quite stable in my experience which is good.

Its because people don't have enough money to buy the games, or that they own 2consoles (like the 360) and would rather buy games for it, then say that the Wii doesn't have enough games.

oh aye...and fzero. sega did an absolute cracking job of GX on the cube so ninty should let them at it again. and they could really further develop starwing, wiimote and nunchuck would be great for that type of game. no more of this on foot crap though...something like lylat wars but on a much grander scale.

I feel that its in the same boat as the PSP, except the PSP never really had the potential to begin with.

wii is not for serious gamer its a party console funny and for the family its not a bad thing but its lack of real games like 360 is getting right now just not the same market 8)legol1

They should change the name or the function of the Wii to digital familyboard game console j/K lol...

Because the Devs concentrate their efforts on games like Cooking Mama and all this other boring mini game crap shovelware that is more suitable for the DS when hardcore gamers are left stranded for the one or two good Nintendo titles per year.CPM_basic

That's what I was thinking.. I've played the wii and it is fun, but I couldn't see myself playing those games 3-4 months from now. The wii needs games that are more involved like MP3 or PM2. And can we please ditch the *** damned PS2 ports. All of these companies seem content with putting crap on the wii just to make a buck.

I would have though the original games that came later after them would have turned out better though. Boogie was a huge disappointment and MySims (I was really looking forward to this as well since I'm a Sims fan, I just hope the new SimCity on the PC doesn't disapppoint) and Dewy's Adventure clearly don't seem to be living up to what people though they would be.

In part I blame gaming sites when they preview these games. They could clearly tell people the faults of these games a LOT earlier then they do. Then the disappointment when the review finally comes wouldn't be so bad. Perhaps if they did that, the reaction from possible buyers would make the developers go back and fix things or change them for the better. As bad as it seems though the lack of buyable games is helping my bank account though. I'm not wasting to much money.
