Ok you always hear talk of the fight for # 2, in which we know that the 360 has stronghandedly won over the PS3, but if you look at the price point of the 360 you should know there is going to be a ton more 360's sold than compared to the wii, which has seen its legs really drop off. Just look at the PS2 and how well it sold for such a long time. Also on the software side of the argument you could argue that the 360 is beating the wii as well. I don't know if I agree with your argument, but I kind of side with the thread title. Yes, the wii sold the most consoles. However, it also put nintendo in a tricky position which may lead to people venturing to one of the other two.
360 = 55 million, give or take, with an extra year under it's belt.

Ok, ok, real talk. The Wii killed this gen in sales. What is there to talk about in that regard? Even with the 360s year head start and competitive pricing the Wii came out on top.

i was talking on the sales side of the software argument, thats alot closer than unit sales. The gen is not over it has 4-5 years left, which Im sure 360 can make up the ground, especially with wiiu coming out and the focus will be on that. Wii is now remotely appealing, 3 years it will be junk in terms of sales.

Wiiu is a mistake if what im hearing is true that you can have only one player to your wiiu, that just is weak and wont translate, they will never be on the online level of xboxlive or PSN, well maybe PSN since its not really great.

360 will dictate the market, ps4 might come out but if MS needs to design a system by then it will just go ahead and do it, and be the bigger better name on the market with the more powerful system. Kinect is the gamechanger. People purchased a vastly inferior system the wii much more than the ps3 or 360 in its hayday and it was becuase it was the most innovative product. Now Kinect is that, and the price point is still extremely high, which will come down and which will incur alot more sales. People act like MS isnt on top of their game, they are running this gen and im calling it now.

because the Wii U is being released....they will start getting much much weaker 2 years into the Wii U's life.
Once, the Wii U is released, it is next-generation and the war is over. I doubt the 360 will sell the extra 30 million required to catch up with the Wii in less then 1 year.

I feel that the price of the 360 and kinect isn't what's holding back the 360's sales. Its similarly priced to the Wii right now and during the holidays these products always see deals. Kinect has breathed new sales life into the 360 agreed but I'm not quite sure why you think it can hold the 360 up to its record years for 4 years with new hardware up and ready to take consumer dollars. I don't think its realistic, MS has dominance in the US and UK but last quarter it was still the lesser selling hardware to the PS3. 360 will have a monst holiday but its not doing well to gain much ground on the Wii lead as of right now.

If the 360 and PS3 were $250 like the Wii was they wouldn't have been that powerful because they would lose money making a system that powerful and only chargin $250 for it. The scenario where the Wii, 360, PS3 all being priced the same and with the same power they all respectively have makes so financial sense for MS and Sony.
