The wii is the most expensive out of the 3 consoles if you are a hardcore gamer. Want to see how? A casual only buys one console. I think we can pretty much agree with that. And since the wii is a pure casual console atm, what with wario ware, rayman, wii sports etc, the wii is the obvious choice since its the cheapest. But for a hardcore gamer, the wii is not enough. First of all, for what you are getting, the wii is overpriced. Last gen graphics, hardware and specs that compare to the xbox 1, which could display games in 720p, but the wii can't even do that. Imagine zelda with kameo graphics , nintendo have really ripped us off there. Unacceptable. Motion sensing isn't new, so it couldn't have cost nintendo a fortune to develop the idea onto the wii, so at the end of the day, the wii is overpriced. If you get a wii, you will have to buy at least 1 extra controller, if not more. My 2nd point is that for a hardcore gamer, the wii on its own is not enough. If you had just a 360, that would be enough because you've got everything you can ask for. Great graphics, great games, superb online service, great looking titles and new IP's coming up, this is what a hardcore gamer wants. But the wii is not enough on its own. It doesn't have the sophisticated online service, the hardware, its got a casual image, which means it is attracting a lot of lazy developers and more casual games are being made for it than serious ones. I have a wii but i found i had to buy a 360 as well, so overall i've payed more than i would've done. If only nitnendo were serious about their hardcore audience. Any1 who says they are, are blind. I own a Wii and I agree with some of what you say. But your title is 100% incorrect, and you through your own words never backed up your title. Is the Wii overpriced for what you get technology wise? Yes to some degree, but that is a matter of opinion. Your title should say overpriced instead of most expensive, because any person with a low to modest IQ can see and proove that it isn't the most expensive. The total money spent for the Wii console purchased is much lower no matter how you compare it to the 360 and PS3. Explain yourself a little further and refute this simple clarification, and maybe you can convince me otherwise.

I remember your name, or at least something similar.
Basically what i'm saying, if you buy a wii, it isn't enough, at least not if your a hardcore gamer, so you'll have to buy another console such as a 360. In the end you'll end up spending more than you have to, to play the type of games you want. If you bought a 360 on its own, it would be enough, you don't really need a wii, but if you bought a wii, you would most likely need another console , or a gaming pc, because the wii just isn't enough. You would be spending more overall. The fact that its overpriced just supports what i'm saying. DarkT33
If I only owned a 360, I'd suffer from Zelda-withdrawl so you are wrong -- the 360 alone is not enough.
Honestly, at the moment the Wii is enough for me. It has new good games coming out, and I could play VC games too. I plan on getting a PS3 later, not because the Wii isn't enough, but because two of my favorite franchises are on the Playstations. >_>
I agree that a Wii alone can't satisfy hardcore gamers, but it's not like hardcore gamers are usually satisfied with just one console either.I think you hit the nail on the head there.
And in that case, wouldn't the Wii's lower price be beneficial to them?DireToad
I'd like to use a different constuction. I don't like 90% of wii's games (don't like party titles) but I love the metroid and Zelda series (and maybe the new RE on wii) so i'll have to pay $250 to play 4 or 5 games through its lifespan. The 360 and ps3 can probably count on 40 each through its lifespans.
So per game and per hour of amusement the wii is easily the most expensive for me since there likely won't be much to interest me save for a few titles. Same as the cube which has my favorite of last gen (RE4) but hardly anything else.
Ps, those titles would be better on powerfull consoles.
lol all I got from the TC was that the wii is the most expensive console because hardcore gamers have to buy another system with it......which is pretty much the stupidest thing I heard all day.Â
Besides, the wii-style motion sensing has not been done one a console before. It's not a basic looking controller that you just tilt to the right or left and get a delayed response.
No where in your rambling incoherent response did you come close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. We are all dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.
