Wii Outselling PlayStation 3 Almost 3-to-1 in Japan

P.S.  we know X360 sales suck there, no need to comment, the interesting thing about this is how quickly Sony lost its console crown in Japan.  It happened the instant Wii went on sale.

Pretty much power vs. innovation. I am glad innovation is winning. Nintendo is changing gameplay while Sony is changing graphics.

lol this little machine called Wii must be a beast. 3-1 in sony's homeland is great and im sure they will continue to sell. the problem is i have been looking for a Wii since launch and the only way i could find one is through ebay for close to 500 bucks. im glad to see nintendo making a killing on this machine, now if i could only get one. jxditu

Japan is also Nintendo's homeland....and Nintendo has been in games longer.

Anyone else find it ironic that "Team Xbox: Insiders Choice for Xbox Information" has an article about Wii sales vs. PS3 sales in Japan? What does that have to do with Xbox? When are they going to do their Wii vs. Xbox 360 japanese sales article? Im starting to question xbox supporters a little. Do they want their system to do good or do they want Sonys system to do bad? It really seems like the latter.echelon

NIntendo is the new King of Japan.

Sony has to be scared right now. The PS3 is definitely in 3rd place and looking to remain there for a long time.

The PS3 will get no time to rest as Halo3 is launching this year!:D

do we have to go back when the gamecube out sold ps 2 but at the end we all now how that went. japan is just waiting. gamecube owners only need 250 to jump to next gen. the ps 2 still has alot of support. why jump to next gen now. wait until the ps 2 dies out and the sony fans are ready to jump to next gen. when the ps 3 falls in price.GARRYTH

It's pretty sad that the PS3 is getting trounced by a system that has been pronounced dead by Nintendo.

I want all systems to succeed, it just seems like some have a harder time then others succeeding over there. Wasn't Sony just doing good over there? Well, we know Microsoft can't seem to tap into that market at all. I almost think if they put all the games that are on the Wii, with all the high quality, well known first party titles that Nintendo has, and put them on a Microsoft console, it still wouldn't sell. It's odd. I don't know if they're loyal to their products, or what, but it seems strange. Microsoft went after so many different publishers/developers to get those JRPGS/RPGS , and still fell flat. I think they should partner with Sega and name their next system Dreamcast 2. Then maybe it will actual steal some sales, at least until they find out that it's a Microsoft console :P
