Wii owners: Are you happy with Wii graphics?

It's human nature to expect better graphics for a new console. Nintendo bucked the trend and didn't push graphics much higher. It is well known that the Wii's specs don't equal the 360 or PS3. How havethe Wii owners felt about the graphics?

I'm happy with the power of the console, but not with developer efforts on the console. I find it sad that the best-looking game is a gamecube port, and it's about to get topped...by another gamecube port.

we all knew the graphics were not gunna be on par with ps3 or 360 for a start.

yes alot of the 3rd party titles look poor but then theres SMG and SSBB etc etc etc that look very good so im satisfied

I was pretty prepared for the graphics because I honestly don't care as long as the gameplay is good. (In my opinion games were better in the 16-bit sprite and early 3D stage)

Although I was pretty disapointed with Red Steel's graphics. That was probably due to being in a real Half-Life 2 addiction when the Wii was released and I was used to a fps that pushed the hardware of my outdated pc :P

am i happy with what the system can do? yes.

am i happy with the games currently available? no.

When you examine ancient tribes and their art, it was very simplistic. As time passed, people improved painting and sculpture. The reason statues went from Gumby to Michaelanglo's David is that people learn and improve.

The same is true for video games. I guess Nintendo is satisfied with Gumby.

I think stuff like SSBB and SMG look great, and really if I want to play a game with uber pretty gtaphics Ill go play my 360.laughingman42

Many responses mention SSBB and SMG, but those games haven't been released yet. It's OK to mention them, but I think it shows the disappointment for current Wii games. Hardly anyone has mentioned Zelda TP.

but yes the sloppy ports look like crap, but they are just that sloppy ports.

What's the best looking game for the Wii now?

I'm happy. It's good enough to be noticeably better than Gamecube, which is fine for me, as I have an SDTV and would not be abe to take advantage of HD graphics.ZinkOxide

I have seen many people come here and say "but I only have a SDTV so HD graphics don't matter to me" but then when eventually do get a HDTV they then start to complain about the Wii(cause the Wii looks terrible on HDTVs)

:lol: I do think they were prepared for graphics not on the level of Xbox 360 and PS3, but they can't be completely truthful seeing the graphics of Wii games today. Although I assume not many have HDTV and have not spent extensive time with HD graphics so they, yeah, maybe they are satisfied because they dont know.

No, as I have seen no game that couldnt be done on the Xbox or GC.htekemerald

Get used to it, since the Wii can't match Xbox as the Wii can't handle shaders.

i like how people act as if this graphical gap is a new thing with the wii and xbox360/ps3. anyone here remember the playstation and nintendo 64? they had a graphical gap right there. then you had the graphical gap between the n64 and dreamcast.Rahnyc4

True. But if someone has never seen HDTV, they don't know what they're missing. However, the fact is that all guys want more pixels on their screens. Let's be frank about it. If someone says they don't like higher resolutions, then we know they are defending a lost cause.
