Topic.

If you don't, why don't you?  I have to believe most Wii owners here also owned gamecubes, and as such you should be painfully aware of what the "game drought" experience is like.  1 good game every season?  Ouch.  Yet that was the GameCube experience.

So if you don't own a PS3 or 360 (or gaming PC), why the hell don't you?  Good gaming during these Wii dry spells.  If you do, which of the other 2 consoles did you pick and why?

And if you don't plan to pick up a 360 or PS3 (or gaming PC)...well...do you just enjoy pain?

I'm pretty sure they do or will. I doubt the Wii by itself is going to deliver the whole gaming experiance that you want.

The reason I don't have a 360 is because I know a price drop is inevitable and I would be pissed if I got a 360 only for a couple months later there be a price drop. Not only that, but by the time the 360 gets a price drop I'm assuming there will be more Platinum Hit titles availalbe for the 360 that I can pick up. That way I can get Gears for $29.99 and any other epic title. Also by then Microsoft would be in the industry for a longer amount of time and hopefully have more games to appeal to me. Gears and Oblivion are the only ones M$ have as of now, they lack any creative, new, just plain "fun" games and other RPGs. Also please no one recommend Viva Pianta for me, that game is a sim and I hate virtua life sims or pets. AS for the PS3, I'll get it when it becomes a last gen system and if it did have quite a number of successful titles. I did the same with the PS2, waited till last summer to get it when the PS2 is cheap and had an excellent library of Greatests Hits and used games.

I am too poor to own a 360 or PS3 at the moment. Although I am considering getting a PS3 this summer since I do want one. I see no reason to buy a 360 though, the games dont appeal to me and the future lineup looks lame as hell.

Don't really need a PS3 or a 360, all the games that I want to play on those consoles will end up on the PC

PS3 is just as worst as Wii. And they both came out the same time. Stop giving Sony and PS3 credibility on games. The console has NOTHING.

Wii and PS3 have one thing though.....its downloading old school games. Same with 360.

But 360 >>>>>> Wii & PS3 :)

I own a wii and no other console this gen. i didn't own a GC or any last gen console. I do own a pc and that was my primary system after the nes.

also this isn't much of a dry spell. just because you don't get AAA games every month doesn't mean A and AA don't count. i mostly rent games now anyway so it's not like i feel like i'm wasting any money.

One console will never deliver the whole gaming experience you should want. Being a manticore, I'm getting a Wii first (Sold my original), followed by either a 360 or PS3 - if the PS3 can lower itself down enough first. I've already upgraded my PC, so no problems there.

damn...do you plan on picking up one of the others? Ask a GameCube owner (like myself)...the gaming droughts on Nintendo consoles are hellish, and that hasn't seemed to have changed this gen (yet).

will get a 360 in a few monthes. Not because I dont think the wii will support me. (I did fine with my GC) but because the 360 looks much better than the original.

I don't think I'd be able to rely soley on the Wii to satisfy my gaming needs, and I find it hard to imagine how anyone else could.  But then again, I haven't even touched a Wii yet so I could be wrong...but I doubt it 8)

The PC and 360 would make much better primary consoles.  I'm still not sure about the PS3 though.

i've currently no plans of getting any other consoles this gen. mostly i pick up really discounted pc games (even year old pc games can be 20 bucks or less) so i'm not worried. Actually i've more games than i have time for. i still haven't beaten elebits and trauma center yet. i rented redsteel and trying to beat that now (it's surprisingly better than what i expected but not great). I'm also playing suffering for pc since i had missed it, Lego Starwars 2, and I have to restart Halflife2 because my hard drive crashed and i didn't bother reinstalling for a long time.

I own a Wii. I'm planning to pick up a 360 later this year, around fall or so. I'm planning on picking up a PS3 around 2009 or so. As for droughts, they don't affect me. I usually get one new game a month, and there's at least one game per month in Q2 that I'm really interested in (Super Paper Mario in April, Heatseeker in May, Pokemon in June). Besides, I have such a giant backlog of games to beat it isn't even funny.

Of course its sitting in the closet. You know what I meant when I spoke of the 486 :| The point was if its not classified as a GAMING PC (something capable of running Oblivion, Crysis, C&C:TW, etc...or at least UT2004 at a good framerate) it doesn't really count in this discussion.

I have 4 360 games and 1 PS3 game I have yet to take out of the shrink wrap. too busy working and meeting new chicks :(

Yeah. Kinda sucks how real life gets in the way of gaming, doesn't it? :P

[QUOTE="Hoffgod"][QUOTE="Dreams-Visions"][QUOTE="Hoffgod"]I own a Wii. I'm planning to pick up a 360 later this year, around fall or so. I'm planning on picking up a PS3 around 2009 or so. Topic.

If you don't, why don't you?  I have to believe most Wii owners here also owned gamecubes, and as such you should be painfully aware of what the "game drought" experience is like.  1 good game every season?  Ouch.  Yet that was the GameCube experience.

So if you don't own a PS3 or 360, why the hell don't you?  Good gaming during these Wii dry spells.  If you do, which of the other 2 consoles did you pick and why?

And if you don't plan to pick up a 360 or PS3...well...do you just enjoy pain?

No I have a PC and a DS

I'll include PC in my OP.

Everyone posting should have a PC :P

I specified GAMING PC. mom's 486DX33 doesn't count.

Dude its 2007, no one still has a 486

I do :P Super hawtt Compaq Persario. Complete with Win '95 and a 2X CD drive 8)

And you still use it to go online its not just sitting in the closet

Of course its sitting in the closet. You know what I meant when I spoke of the 486 :| The point was if its not classified as a GAMING PC (something capable of running Oblivion, Crysis, C&C:TW, etc...or at least UT2004 at a good framerate) it doesn't really count in this discussion.

Most new PCs can run at least some of those games

most people don't have new PCs.

I have a 360, PS3, and a gaming PC. There is no reason to get a Wii at this time. Maybe after they get decent 3rd party support and online system that is decent I might reconsider.

LOL that is great. I have a WII, 360, 2 PS2's,2 DS's, PSP and a gaming PC. I have all this stuff for different reason. The DS and WII are for my Daughter, 360, PC and PS2 are for me and the other DS and PS2 are for my Son. I really don't care what you say but when you get a bunch of Adults around drinking and playing WII sports you will have a good time. I think it wouldn't be pain for people to use the WII as a primary system. Its a true party machine.

Currently I only own a Wii but might get a 360 when it gets something that interests me.  Only pain I felt with the Wii was when I slammed my finger into my dresser playing wiisports bowling (ouch).:P
