I think his point is that if people weren't as narrowminded, they wouldn't be considered niche in the first place. Despite appeal good games are good games.
Anyways to answer the question, it's been since.. last June since I've played mine.

Being narrowminded has nothing to do with it. You either will like something or you won't. Sometimes there is no reason why, it just doesn't appeal to you. Niche games are designed with a specific audience in mind 99% of the time. The developers of these games are fully aware of a specific group they want to appeal to. Its not being narrowminded, it's being human. We all like different things.I never said narrowminded was necessarily bad. But yeah, if you only like First Person Shooters, that's fine. But it's still narrowminded. Plus, I would imagine many people don't bother to try anything out of their comfort zone. Sure, a lot of people might not actually like a Boy and His Blob, but I imagine a lot of people wouldn't even give it a chance. That's narrowminded.
You're missing the point. Niche games specifically aim to appeal to a small crowd. Nobody else. It's not narrowminded to not find appeal in a niche game. Thats why its called niche in the first place :?Lookie here.
adjective 5. pertaining to or intended for a market niche; having specific appeal: niche advertising.
Being open minded doesn't place you into every audience niche games try to appeal to. There is no possibility of making yourself find appeal in every niche game. That's how the world works. Again, it isn't being narrowminded, its being human.
