I do like that Nintendo is finally giving us a mic, but I don't like the fact that there forcing us t put it above the TV. Why not have the option of putting it on a headset and then detaching it when you want to use it for everyone in the room. That just seems to make a lot more sense as you get the functionality of a headset but you they would also keep their original idea intact.

I didn't see it requiring a placement. All I see is a gussied-up stage-floor microphone that looks like it fits in shape and size on top of the sensor bar. Besides, it's not like Nyko can't go and reshape that into a headset...

Poor idea, IMO.

I usually play online games with people in the room and/or other things going on. A headset, IMO, is a better way to go to avoid more annoyances in gameplay.

Maybe I don't know but, isn't this better than a headset? Because, you don't need to have it one your ear or have to plug into the controller? This way you can just speak normally like you would if it was a head set but not have it actually on you. Am I wrong? What do you want out of a headset that this doesn't offer?

Is it because you can hear people talk seperately from your speakers? That's probly the only major difference, but I think it's okay. I know that the conduit is going to use the mic. I hope you can use it to talk to anyone, and I hope they don't only limit Wii speak to people on your friends list.

I think so too, but I'm just saying why not also give us a headset option? That way it appeals to everyone.

I'm not sure I understand the problem. When the GS writer was demoing the Wii Speak with Animal Crossing, he said that there was a lot of other people in the room making noise and he said that everything worked just fine (sorry - would post a link, but I can't seem to find the article now).

I mean, if that's the case, then why is a head set so much better? Unless you're talking about things you don't want Mommy and Daddy hearing about...

I know from playing Rock Band online on my 360 that I always wish I could talk to the rest of the band, without having to yell or pass a message, when someone else in the room has the headset. WiiSpeak solves this. Now, don't be surprised if, building on my previous Nyko post, Nyko also goes and builds something like this for Xbox 360 users. It really isn't hard to do, and I wonder why it hasn't been done before?

idk, sometimes you wonder what Nintendo is thinking. On top of a TV! Why not a personal headset. Who wants to shout across the room playing a fps game? Who wants all their family members to join in the chat? I want a personal headset. Nintendo knew gamers want a headset and yet release a little box on top of a TV!
