Wii takes the lead again in console warz!!!!

Finacial Times reports the sales numbers and not the shipping numbers. To no surprise the Wii takes the lead in sales. Out doing the 360 what and leaving the PS3 in the dust.

Cumulative sales of Nintendo's Wii have overtaken those of the Xbox 360, making it the world's best-selling next-generation games console in spite of having been on the market a year less than Microsoft's machine.

Analysts said the Wii was boosted by steady sales through the summer while sales of the Xbox and the PlayStation3 lagged behind due to a dearth of new software titles.

I thought this was kinda weird since 360 has several good games but I guess it was a slow summer for all. Anyway for now Wii is in the lead. Who know what could happen in the months to come...and for the PS3 there is 2008 when several of it's big games come out.

the wii to me isnt the best system. To me, it's a two way tie:

xbox 360 and ps2

the snes came close

haha Wii are winning! And sales do matter tho people. The more money the company brings in, obviously means the more items from the company that are getting sold. And with the wii and its games being cheaper than other next gen titles, that must mean the wii has sold much more than the other consoles.

"Another factor boosting sales of the Wii is its $249 price-tag compared with $300-$400 for the Xbox 360 and $599 for the PS3, though prices of all three consoles are expected to drop by the crucial holiday shopping season."

he dosn't even know there were price cuts months ago. he's also posting from japan which explains why he is unaware of the 360 library. it'll probably be the last article they publish from him. he's lucky he's in japan, criminal charges would be filed against him for providing false investment data if he were in the usa.

XBOX live gold memberships, contollers, HD and Ethernet cables, wireless and regular head sets, chargable battery packs, XBOX live points selling movies music and shows over XBOX live, media remotes etc.

They make more on that stuff probably than the Wii makes on selling all their systems.

How about profit. if you have money you pay them to make exclusives for your system.

if their selling so much why arenty any of the big multi platform games not being made for Wii. R6 Vegas, Gears of War, Unreal, Oblivion, Ninja Gaiden, Mass Effect.

Wii isnt even close dude all they have is their own capcom and nintendo made games little kiddy games because they dont have the profit to pay third party guys to make exclusives why would make people want to buy their system.

Basically you summed up what I think about sales. Good sales brings developers and developers bring 3rd party games.

what is funny is that nintendo has 0 third party exclusive all their games are capcom and nintendo that is it. 1/2 their games are emulaters they revamped or whatever like resident evil. and besides sports games (which are way better on 360 and ps3) they dont even have any multi platform games.

0 third party exclusvies, almost 0 multi platform games but they are winning the console wars.

I think I'll take XBOX 360 by far the most user friendly, Online play which no gaming system and even compare, way more exclusives than any other system and all the multi platforms.

FIRST OFF: Microsoft has great sales in the U.S. , as does the wii, BUT microsoft has bad sales in Japan, and in Europe, as where the wii has great sales in both those countries. Thats proven fact right there from many of reliable sources including game informer and the mouths of microsoft and nintendo company represenitives.

NEXT OFF: We all like our own types of games. It's got to be the stupidest thing ever to compare Gears of War to The Legend of Zelda. Why? Because they are both 2 totally different types of games, a platformer and a shooter. Each Company has some of its own exclusive titles. The games are only better by your preference.

LASTLY: Nintendo games aren't all kid centered, but centered around what some people may want to play. I like Monkeyball. However, some of you may say "monkeyball is so childish, wow nintendo is a childish system for having monkey ball." And thats fine, but there are also other people who play monkeyball and it makes decent money with its sales to the people who it appeals to. And the wii does have titles that are Mature. For examples, Resident Evil 4, Mortal Kombat Armageddon, The Godfather, Scarface, and the up coming Manhunt 2.
