Okay lets get rid of this myth
Biggest 3rd Party multiplatform games this year
Guitar Hero Legends of Rock
360 GUITAR HERO III: LEGENDS OF ROCK - ~860K
WII GUITAR HERO III: LEGENDS OF ROCK - ~710K
Call of Duty 4
360 CALL OF DUTY 4: MODERN WARFARE ACTIVISION (CORP) NOV 2007 MATURE (M) 1 1.57 million
PS3 CALL OF DUTY 4: MODERN WARFARE ACTIVISION (CORP) NOV 2007 MATURE (M) 7 444K
Assassins Creed
360 ASSASSIN'S CREED UBISOFT NOV 2007 MATURE (M) 3 980K
PS3 ASSASSIN'S CREED UBISOFT NOV 2007 MATURE (M) 10 377K
now look at these 3 examples
While Assassins Creed and Call of Duty 4 both sold phenomenally on 360.. the PS3 sales are comparatively lackluster.. At the sametime 360s Guitar Hero III sales are similar to Wiis Guitar Hero III sales..
What does that tell you..?
its simple really.. its the third parties fault that their sales are like crap.. if they ported over assassins creed or call of duty 4 they would have gotten similar sales to the 360 version.. while the PS3 port is not even reaching half the sales of the 360 version..
People tend to think that Wiis third parties dont sell because nintendo games are selling too well.. Wrong again.. The best selling first party title this year was Halo 3 with about 4.1 Million units sold.. Zelda Twilight princess (at about 3 million with the GC version) or Wii Play (3 million) as well as Mario (mario galaxy 1.2 million, super paper mario 810k, mario party 8 1.4 million) do not compare ..
the only reason why third party sales on the wii are lackluster are pisspoor management of UBI or Activision .. Why would they port the inferior Call of Duty 3 to the Wii while they just drop the ball on Call of Duty 4..? Why would UBI make a pisspoor game called redsttel (which sold about 400k) and not make an own version of assassins creed..?
Missmanagement, lost opportunities and now blaming Nintendo.. yeah right
