wii is coming out in korea. witch is known as pc land . But the wii and ds have been great at expansing markets. i bet the wii will be a major console in korea . it will bring console gaming into the main stream there .
This is even funnier when you consider Starcraft II is coming out soon. Once again, Korea will have it's one game to play for ther next 10 years...until Starcraft III is created.
as a korean.. i can tell u wii nor any of the consoles for that matter will take korea's beloved pc. Korean gamers besides from the starcraft image... play alot and i mean alot of mmorpgs.
the only way the Wii will take Korea by storm is if its bundled with Starcraft 2.
every factor is agaist the Wii in Korea, for one, Korea is a very internet centric country, second most percentage wise...and the online in the Wii...well...sucks.
and the Wii has no MMO's which are huge in Korea....

maybe if we get starcraft 2 too come out on the wii first, then koreans will go nuts, but untill then i don't see them pulling themselfs away from WoW to play brawl and galaxy
bundling the wii with sc2 will get ppl buying lol. It's either that or if the wii starts using a mouse in a wii exclusive mmorpg. THe mmorpg better have microing in it.

Is WoW big over there? I remember reading somewhere that it didn't do as good because Koreans prefer free to play type of MMOs. Of course this was years ago when I still play WoW so I admit I'm a bit out of touch.
i dunno... i dont hink WoW is huge over there. My chinese friend told me its huge over at his country. THere's like a few servers full of them. Even in a mixed backgroujnd server, my friend says they hang around together and level together. WHen all the monsters in one area are killed and respawning, they migrate over to another area. Yes... migrating.
