The Wii U is failing because Nintendo is screwed, people realized Nintendos ways of selling underpowered hardware for a premium price with no games aside from 1 st party titles.
The Wii literally had no games for the longest periods of time, 2010-2012 was literally spans of 5-6 months of no games. I mean games in general, quality aside.
Nintendo's lack of wanting to evolve bit them in the *** and MS/Sony are moving on while Nintendo is playing catch up.
Why by a Wii U when people can either just wait for the PS4/Xbox 3 or by a 360/PS3 for the price of a Wii Deluxe?
360/PS3 can do more, and have a lot more games than the Wii U ever will have, especially considering the Wii U is dead once next gen starts later this year.
Japans consumers realize this and are saving their cash for when next gen hits, Wii U is a current gen system by technology but a next gen one by definition.
In reality, it is not a next gen console.
Pretty much the only thing that saved Nintendo with the original Wii was the soccer mom/grandpa Wii Sports and Wii Fit craze.
Casuals loved it but gamers didn't, barely anyone played it. The console had the most systems sold yet on average its games sold way less than lower usebased 360/PS3.
Now that the casuals are gone, Nintendo wants the core gamer back. Why should we come back when they left us?
The way people see it is, F*** Nintendo
