Wii U clock speed lower than Xbox 360. Tekken producer claims underpowered

Very old news, but what I explained in multiple threads in the last couple of days about the WiiU's possible hardware issues talks about how the console's hardware may affect current gen ports.

I love how people on SW think a console is underpowered because it can't run ports not optimized for it as well as the other consoles.

I'm no hardware expert but doesn't lower clock speed just mean that they have the Wii-U set to use less of its avalible power for the default in comparison to the 360? So are they even proportional? A underclocked Wii U wcould still be more powerful then a overclocked 360 because the hardware isn't the same right?

360 has quite an efficient dev friendly architecture, Nintendo couldn't atleast follow a modest more powerful route?

Going on about clock speeds? Clock speed is important, but not so much any more, in fact I remember clock speed becoming less of an issue from when Athlon released the Athlon XP range of processors. These days clock speed is not that meaningful.

Besides, the 360 is clocked at 3.2Ghz. In my PC I run a Pentium G840 which is 2.8GHz, but that combined with the Radeon 7870 and I defecate all over my 360's graphics. Batman Arkham City, more pixels, frames, and detail on my PC, but with a lower clock speed.

That's sad and frankly, quite pathetic really. Especially when you compare it to 6-7 year old consoles like PS3 and 360.

edit: I take that back, they wouldn't be the same performance, the first instrunction would take the same amount of time to process but instrucntions after that will pop out faster on teh 1ghz cpu. It'll have a higher throughput, but from start to finish each individual command will take as long as the 200mhz verions. 5 commands will be latched in the pipe though.

PS4, and Xbox720 are releasing (I assume) in a year and a half meaning they can put better hardware in it then they would have if they released them at the same time as the wiiU, they won't have a tablet holding back any of the power unlike the WiiU, AND the won't have to spend (idk how much the tablet it) I say 1/3 of the system for a half ass tablet so they can focus on better hardware. While the next gen jump might not be as big as this gen the WiiU will lag behind when the HD twins release their next console. I assume the difference in power would be like roughly comparing the PS2 to the Gamecube?

If that were true Ninja Gaiden wouldn't be running at 30 frames and Batman would look better than the PS3 version. Even Pikmin, a 1st party game looks pretty pathetic, only saved by the art-style.

Batman looks worse than the PS3 version and Ninja gaiden runs at 30 frames. If that were true this wouldn't be happening.

They were literally tied in graphically capabilities except the Wii had a slightly better GPU and a slower CPU that was better then the xbox's cpu.The xbox had two advantages over the Wii.Programmable shaders and 720P outputThe wii also had more ram.But the best looking games on the console only used like 50% of the system from what I heard.

And I'm hating to have to keep repeating this but the Wii U uses newer tech. The CPU is likely superior to 360/PS3 even at a lower speed (Likely 2.4Ghz or at lowest I imagine) and you'd be crazy if you think the PS4/720 will have Quad/Six Core CPUs anywhere near 3.2Ghz.
