Black Ops 2 was running in full HD @ 60fps plus rendering the tablet controller screen at the same time in multiplayer mode. The tablet screen is 854 x 480 (WVGA) so that's 2774x1560 @ 60fps on BO2.

Does it fully render the game onto the controller or just menus maps and ui stuff?hexashadow13
Renders the full game. I can be playing full screen on my TV, while a friend can play on the WiiU pad.

You can play with just the controller, or use the controller for player 2 for co-op. Just solo play with SP or MP would have the Gamepad as maps, menu, ect.
Please join the sticky. The Activision guy at the Nintendo presentation said that it's 'being delivered in full 1080P, and COD's traditional 60FPS' (loosely quoted). So, unless he either lied or used buzzwords, I am led to believe by the publisher that it is 1080P + the gamepad. Bear in mind please that it's not correct to add the resolutions together. If it is 1080p on the TV plus 854x480 on the gamepad, that's 2,483,520pixels. You report 2774x1560 which is 4,327,440pixels. 1080p = 1920x1080
+
gamepad = 854x480
= 2774x1560 amount of pixels being rendered by the hardware.
That's not really how that works...it's just running two different screens not one total resolution
lostrib
It doesnt have to be one total reslution. Im stating hardware power, im saying the hardware is capable of playing the game at 1560p at 60fps which means the hardware the Wii U runs on does have a lot of raw power.

Are you still in elementary or do you just not understand basic math?

Your math and resolution is off2774x1560 = 4327440 pixels
while 1920x1080 + 854x480 =2483520 pixels
next gen console can play current gen game at super high resolution? Dear god, who would have guessed? :P

Sorry sir, I must respectfully disagree with you. I took some time to make a diagram using free software provided by OpenOffice.org. As you can see, all the blue pixels are the additional pixels when using your method. The green and red when summed together gives the figure I calculated.
Rather than focus on your math, I will join you in saying that it's brilliant the Wii U does this.

Wait, sorry man, but I didn't read the OP or TC's point before... but now that I have:
Who cares? The WII U is complete garbage to me till it proves otherwise, with a steady flow of games better then the competition tru out its life span, hell it dosent even have to be better just on par. How anyone can be excited for this or how nintendo still has so many die hard fans after the wii is beyond me.

Thsoe are all the pixels the graphcis card needs to render and its doing it with ease. All im trying to say is the Wii U actually packs a lot fo raw power.

Just like its 2GB of RAM?
Seriously, I believed next gen should have a bear minimum of 4GB of RAM, but Nintendo never fails to disappoint. 2GB of RAM, and 512mb of it is all OS. Wonderful.
