hi everyone except that idiot Richard.
im trying to decide what would be best for my hypothetical son, Richard. He is fresh to high school and likes video games, but he also has to do homework.
which do you think is gonna be the best? A wii u, or a cheap pc with ubuntu, then the linux steam client?
in terms of price they're gonna work out about the same. im willing to budget a bit more for a linux box because it will give him a machine dedicated for his homework. i like that i can spend the money on hardware instead of
Wii U can play the Wii's library, here is the list here:
188 wii u games some of which are unreleased - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wii_U_games
1222 wii games some of which are unreleased - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wii_games
Linux is emerging
185 games with native steam linux support - http://store.steampowered.com/search/?snr=1_230_linux__12&term=#category1=998&os=linux&sort_order=ASC&page=1
dosbox works easily on linux. so there are all these thousands of games too - http://www.dosbox.com/comp_list.php?letter=a
I also think it would be good for my son to get exposure to linux at a tender age. but i heard that nintendo make the best games for children, and i dont want to give my son something he can't have fun with. then again, theme hospital was awesome and that's a dosbox game. but the wii u gamepad is kind of a homework tool because he can wikipedia with the tv off in bed.
i don't know guys, what would you do?
