$600 for the PS3
$400 for the 360
or
$250 for the Wii

Neither is really.
At worst, you have the Virtual Console/Wii Sports with the Wii and Blu-Ray with the PS3.
Wii - Worth it because it's only $250.
360 - Worth it if you don't mind buying a new one every one and a half years and if you don't mind buying a 120 GB hard drive since the initial 360 only had 20 GB and if you don't mind buying a $200 HD-DVD drives to play mediocre movies in HD.
PS3 - Worth it since you get the hard drive standard, the blu-ray disc drivestandard, the HDMI port standard, and it's the most powerful gaming console.
Wii - Worth it because it's only $250.

Your Opinion = Fanboy
Worth = NOTHING
Well, it seems the PS3, because its selling the least units, it the biggest rip-off........Killer2401
:?
The ps3 is expensive but it´s nowhere near a ripoff, remember sony actually loses money selling it. The wii should cost 60$ It should be sold as a game not a console.Eddie-VedderWell, if they were to sell it if with profit, I don't think it would become a huge success. What about that? Also, the Wii is selling it with profit and it's already a huge success. So there's no reason for them to sell it for 60 Dollars. Logic my man, something you lack.

i said the $400 buck 360 so you just owned yourself and any electronic device you buy you should have a warranty for so that's more ownage
360 because you have to pay atleast 400 for the decent version than pay for live then some add-ons (if you want them)Pit_of_Icarus
what a noob, at least MS gives u a choice if u want it or not, xbl is worth every penny, cheapskates, plus all 3 consoles are worth every penny, you get what u pay for and each one brings something unique to the table, as for pc, they are worth their money too but they will always be around so whatever
Shouldn't the 360 be 450$ ??
...cause...you know...the 'elite'...:?

To heck with the elite
But it would be cool to have a black 360
PS3 = $600
Wii and wiisports= $250
:|, no question about it!

Yeah xbox live is a bargain. around $50 bucks for a whole new experience of gaming for all your games. Free downloads, demos, etc... anyone that thinks live is a rip off is a cheapskate
What the hell is this? You summed up the features of the PS3 and didn't do the same to the Wii. How is that called 'in comparison'?PS3 = $600
- blu ray - $700-$1000
- Wi-fi - $100
- HD gaming console - $400
- Decent lag free online(for a console)- $50

Wii and wiisports= $250
- GC(used)- $30
- Upconverting dvd player(good name brand one)- $100

Well for 100GB more and an HDMI plug, you'd be stupid not to spend another 50$...
...also considering the fact that they sell the 120GB HDD for 200 bucks...
the wii seems reasonably priced, UNTIL you look at the games. sub-par. IF it was up there with the graphics of the 360 (which you can get w/o the harddrive for like 299 right?) then it would be a great deal.
the 360 is priced about right. They give you the option to buy the HD (or use memory cards) and xbox live isnt that expensive.
the PS3 will be worth it AFTER some great games come out. So far, nothing really that great. 600+60 = better be a great game.

So because something sells less than something else it's a rip off? Wow. I guess DVDs were a rip off for a long time consider VHS was outselling it.
Less people are buying it because right now, it is a rip-off. RIGHT NOW!
Or may, take your pick.

Yeah I guess you are right
Well.
Wii: You're paying 250 for a console with outdated hardware, terrible quality games and a strong casual focus. Miught be fun as a secondary console.
Xbox 360: You're paying 400 bucks for something with a decent, if shhoter heavy library, a decent online service and a reasonably good future. Prblem being that the console breaks, the online costs money and the get additional features you either have to pay lots of money for (in the case of HDMI of standard xboxes) can't get them at all.
PS3: Right now the PS3 is not the best purchase for your money, because it's game library isn't all the great. It's also very expensive, which is hard to justify. However, game consoles are an investement and its future looks bright with a lot of great games in the pipeline.
Personally, I'd say that they are all the best choice if your tastes lean that way. Really casual gamer? Wii. Present-focused barebones HD gamer? Xbox 360. Future-focused feature-loving users who can afford it: PS3.
Also, it all comes down to games. Do you like the kinds of games which come out on the Wii, Xbox or PS3 more? Personally, i like the PS3 games more, but other people may think otherwise. They can buy whatever system they wish.
I agree with this guy.......the 360 has a large shooter libary of games which are appealing and also top games......the PS3 has very extended multimedia with blu ray etc, and are having other games coming out around next year etc........Wii is a family type console and good for secondary console as mentioned beforeWell.

the core is only 300, bud. And Xbox live is a lot of fun (of course, it's hard to know when you haven't ever tried it). I've played motorstorm a few times on PSN and it was alright, but definitely lacking. 50 bucks a year is less than one game and definitely adds more than a game'sworth of value to your games.Wii - Right now, it's just a Gamecube with a new controller. I'm not impressed. Ripoff.
PS3 - Blu-ray, 60 GB hard-drive, online-capable right out of the box, upscaling, media servers, and a game library to look forward to in the coming months. Worth every penny.
360 - Designed to break. Warranty or not or not, it still breaks; there's no excuse for that. Since this is the $400 version with absolutely no add-ons, there's not much I can say. No online play, since this is just the core console we're talking about. Good console, nonetheless. Good games, just not my cup of tea. Not a ripoff.

So that's what makes it a ripoff? Because less people buy it? Wow. I drive a BMW M3 but I guess it's a rip off because less people bought it than a Toyota Camry.

For every one person that is holding out on buying a PS3 when that one 'killer app' is released, there are 100 more that are waiting for the system price to drop below $300. I don't think there's any other way to cut it. Videophiles who want Blu-Ray don't want the games console, and hardcore gamers that want the best machine won't drive the Blu-Ray film side in substantial enough numbers to 'end' the current format war. Sure, there are exceptions, but as a general rule the number of people that want everything the PS3 has to offer are few and far between, and most of them bought it already at launch, hence the trend of great sales in Week 1 and a plummet in each successive week following Week 2 in virtually every territory.
The last overly ambitious $600 console that vied to be the ubiquitous "black box" that controlled every aspect of your TV was the 3DO, and we all know how that turned out. It was a fabulous machine, but the bottom line is Road Rash, Twisted, FIFA, and Star Control II weren't worth $600 to play. If the PS3 isn't selling with the general quality and well-reviewed titles it has now, such as Motorstorm and Resistance, then a bunch of hi-res sequels to games we've all played for 15+ years, plus Home a Second Life clone with less functionality, aren't going to make much of a dent.
This crosses with the PS2/PS3 launch thread, but in 30 years of buying consoles I cannot name one game system that was successful following the business model of, 'Oh, well when X, Y and Z are released, THEN it'll sell like crazy.' Not one. Screenshots and promises don't sell consoles.
This needs repeated over and over again: Hardcore gamers don't drive the gaming market. The NES, Genesis, PlayStation, and PlayStation 2 weren't successful because they had the best exclusives or the promise of the best exclusives to eventually arrive. They won over their fans and generations because they cost either $249 or $299 and had the best libraries at launch. Their points of critical mass weren't reached with gamer-centric killer apps, but rather with puzzle and rhythm games completely out of left field.
Final Fantasy, Zelda, Mario, et al didn't sell a bajillion GameBoys and NESes. Tetris did.
This trend WILL NOT ever change, regardless what "hardcore gamers" think.
Lots of Wii bashing. You guys obviously weren't aware of a little game called Far Cry. Visual masterpiece :).CyanX73
looking at ur obvious fanboyorship to playstation by ur avatar and banner, id say ur being sarcastic. LoL. nice one, ya i cant wait for crysis on the wii, lol i wonder how crappy it will be. At least ur sarcasm is funnier than the comedy of dane cook.

Something told me to mention that I'm being sarcastic but I figured most people would pick up on that because of my av and my sig.
