Dont ask who, but I saw some noobs posts debating that the Wii using wireless as its standard network interface is a bad idea. They stated that when it comes to downloading "gigs" of files, wireless is a bad idea because it's "slow".
Now that is true if you are transferring files over a LAN where average transfer rates are maxed out at 100 mb/s. (1000 mb/s if you got a good pc card)
The average high speed INTERNET runs between 1.5~3.0 mb/s though.
Wireless runs at what 54 mb/s? It's not even using 20% of the total speed available!
Are people really transferring "gigs" of files between their ps3's and xbox's over a wired LAN to another console? Thats the only way that I could see wireless seeming "slow".
