[QUOTE="CajunShooter"]People seem to not realize you can do as much physical activity as you want, but if you still eat like crap you aren't going to lose any weight.
I can imagine it now, well I worked out on my Wiifit today so I think I'll go ahead and get a second Big Mac.
Ontain
this has always been the truth. but americans will always look for another way. they don't have the self control to eat less.
The entire world is getting fat, not just Americans.
has any exercise game ever done well? this may sell in japan because anything wii is teh **** there, but i can't imagine that many people buying it especially at that price/.
btw ddr is not an exercise game, it's a dance game. wiifit on the other hand is for getting fit. also, no one wants to do hula hooping. finally, i really doubt you can get toned muscles or lose substantial weight from this game.0
gamecode101
How is DDR not an exercise game? They have a mode specifically counting calories, you build muscle and can lose alot of weight like I did. Try again.
[QUOTE="Ontain"][QUOTE="Riviera_Phantom"]You think i'm gonna even spend $70 on that crap? It's essentially another CONTROLLER, now Nintendo are going to start making games for Wiifit controller. What next? WiiBed? Wii headGear?Riviera_Phantom
meh. ppl bought guitars and dancepads so why not?
That's ENTERTAINMENT. Excercise =/= Entertainment.
they said there are like 40 games in wiifit. you're telling me none are entertaining? I'm sure there are ones that many will find fun as much as ddr or guitar hero. to me they are just different versions of Simon

This can apply to any form of workout.
Exactly, I was just saying how dumb our society is. People do eat worse after doing a little bit of working out and wonder why they aren't losing weight and then give up all together.
And I was just responding to everyone thinking they will buy the WiiFit do some exercise and expect to start dropping pounds. Its not going to happen.

true. we're just the fatest nation. and we're exporting our fat food to other nations
Looks like the price will be 70 bucks and it will be released on the first day of the year. That's a rather strange day to release a game if you ask me but what do I know. 70 dollars is pretty steep. Anyone changed their mind about getting this based on the price? I know I'm going to get it.

Richard Simmons Disco Sweat
$12.99
Whens the Wii boflex coming out? Price is steep, looks like the National Health Association needs money.

Wii headGear?Riviera_PhantomWii-Bed. Haha that would be awesome. Your lie down on a Wii-mat and count sheep in the game until you fall asleep. For only 59.99! That would own. :D
So they are releasing it on the first day of the year to catch the fitness boom that happens every January. They are also releasing it right after Christmas so people will return tons of gifts in exchange for this. (Because that Tuesday after Christmas has actually turned into a big DVD/Music release date. Our industry is no different.)
And it's $10 too much. $70 is kind of high.
TekkenMaster606
Well XBOX360 and PS3 games are 60$ and wii fit is a quite advanced periphal for the wii soI find the price very reasonable.
aren't stores closed january 1st?
so it would be impossible to buy it launch day
BuryMe
a lot of stores open on that day for sales and such.
[QUOTE="cyprus646"]January 1st marks the day nintendo unleashes the biggest console milkage peripheral ever. LOL @ The people who are going to buy this crap.Ontain
Rock Band is so much worse :)
But rock band is worth the money not an obvious cash in. We buy consoles to have fun not do yoga or push up the wiifad is just a stupid idea and a waste of time IMO.Wow, people need to start clicking links, and read the actual article, IT USES GAMESTOP AS IT'S SOURCE FOR THE JAN. RELEASE DATE/PRICE! Yeeesh people, it's NOT coming out on the first of January, it's just a holder date.skixwolfQFT Gamestop/Ebgames uses Jan 1st for games which will be released in 2008 or later.
Apparently nobody has noticed this is based on Gamestop, which likes to guess at prices and dates before they're released. January 1 is obviously a placeholder. $70 is a guess because Nintendo said it would be more than $50 and the board runs on batteries, so it won't be more expensive.
I really hope nobody accepted this as truth.

you can make any of these type of games sound stupid.

exactly, never trust store dates. always wait for an official released date from the devs tbh

Yeah I can tell you right now anytime the release date is the 1st of a month its a placeholder. It might not be, but more than likely it is. Army of Two and Assassin's Creed were both oringally scheduled for 04/01/07. Were they released anywheres close to those dates? Nope. So the Wii Fit might come out sometime in Q1, but it could come out later.
Gamestop also has a Rock Band Bundle priced at $200 but there has been no announcements from EA or Harmonix about either the pricing or how the game will come bundled.
Gamestop just tries to get a guess at the price and date for reserves.

You can't ever buy a game on launch day anyways.

I'd buy it a bed for 60 bucks is a heck of a deal even if it doesn't have motion controls.
Nintendo should have packaged the Wii with WiiFit. Make Wii Sports a 19.95 game, and replace it with WiiFit. Best system seller, ever.
As someone from the UK $70 seems a little steep. I'm more than likely going to get it when it comes here(Provided it retails at the right price).
To add...
I'd gladly spend £250+ for this. Slightly more workout too. the game owns to boot.Teh_Stevz
I cant believe you people think that $70 is a high price
- it is an incredibly sensitive, sophisticated piece of electronics equipment (not just a scale, lol. read up on it)
- it is extremely durable. This is nintendo we're talking about, so you should be able to jump up and down on it all gen and beyond
- it will almost certainly be used for other games. Wiifit will probably be a fun game too. Not my thing, but I'll read the review just in case. Anyway, this product is great for some people, especially families

Agreed. Think about it, an SSX game with the Wii board. :D
Wow. They're really feeding off the New Years resolutions.
10 GS Dollars says they bring resolutions up in the commercial.
This has to be the fakest news I've ever seen on System Wars.
Date is most likely a placeholder, as is the price. Nintendo said that Wii Fit would cost more than the normal game, but didn't give a specific price... so I deem this fake.
