Wii-mote has ruined mario for me

ive played almost every mario game to date since back to mario bros (arcade), (i dont have a wii ,thank god, i played it at a friends)but man playing the new mario galaxy with the wii-mote thing is truly frustrating

it took what would have been a great game for me and made frustrating, i could accept how bad the graphics looked (since we were using an HD lcd) but man the controls ruined (no to mention the camera), so we decide to just switch to Mario64 w/ the GC controls now that was fun (the perfect game) wii is truly gimmick gaming at its worse

The remote prevented him from actually playing the game.

thats funny, because galaxy has a better camera than sunshine and 64 :|

He didnt even explain how the Wiimote didnt work for him. His "opinion" is null and void at this point.

"I tried Halo 3, but those dang analogue sticks got in the way! How am I supposed to use 2 of them? The camera sucks cause I can never remember which analogue stick controls my view!

Except spelled terribly. And with no sense of grammar.

I found that the spin attack was very handy and it became second-nature while playing Galaxy. It was especially handy in tight spots when jumping on an enemy could be tough. The 'jumping on enemies' in any 3-D Mario game have always been hard to gauge by nature.

The bonus Wii controls, i.e. the ball, the wind, and the manta were fun additions.

Which is akin to someone saying 'I dont know what you're talking about. Lair plus the sixaxis was freaking awesome. Mario got nothing on that game.'

that would have been a good compromise, but nintendo in all its wisdom has forced the wiimote on to a game that doesnt need it, does the wiimote make the game more fun? no.

mario is mario, its not metroid,its not zelda (all shooting games), its a "platformer", give us a real controller, wiimote makes games hard to master fully (at least for me), probably ive out grown nintendo, or more likely nintendo has regressed, nintendo dont do this to games just for the sake of doing it

Obviously, you haven't played it either (not trying to attack you). You can pretty much advance through the whole game without using ANY of the Wiimote functions.

The game will look not so hot on LCDs unless you have the componet cables (i know from experience, it looks awesome in 480p). The camera is a vast improvement over 64, that is fact, sorry. The fact that you don't hardly use the remote for anything other then button pushing really raises a red flag on your whole post.VideoGameGuy

The camera in Galaxy is damn near perfect. You just need to get used to the new perspective Galaxy throws at you. I played through all 121 stars with Mario and I can remember only a few times that I needed to adjust the camera. Most of those were while swimming, which by nature sucks.

Seriosly, mario is a two button game. Move, jump, duck. That's it. It's going to play exactly the same on any controller. What is so difficult ofr you?

It is impossible to progress further in the game without the Wii Remote because spin attacks are necessary to fight boss characters (esp. Bowser) and shaking the remote is necessary to be launched from a launch or sling star to go from planet to planet, place to place. How can anyone is foolish to say that the Wii Remote is "unnecessary"?

Anway, it is fun playing Galaxy with the Wii Remote, esp. when controlling Mario as he rolls a ball under his feet.

One last thing: what is with the anti-Super Mario Galaxy threads lately? Is is a pathetic attempt by anti-Nintendo/Wii fanatics whose inflated egos were crushed when Galaxy won GameSpot's "Game of the Year"?

Launch, sling, and pull stars. Ball, wind, and Manta levels. Vine climbing, spin attack, and collecting bits. All WiiMote functions.

Except for the fact that the guy in his sig has a valid opinion. TraumaCenter:NB actually IS harder than Halo 3 on legendary, and Truama Center is also a completely origional franchise.
