[QUOTE="starwarsgeek112"][QUOTE="Michael85"]I would imagine the supply will meet demand before April is over.Michael85
Probably not, especially since Super Paper Mairo comes out this month.
I doubt that game's going to sell systems any faster than it's already selling.
If supply issues aren't resolved before the end of the month, it's not because of the huge demand, it's because Nintendo is limiting supply on purpose. Why wouldn't nintendo limit supplies, let's really think about this. They aren't bringing on any more capacity.
1) Nintendo could ramp up production or bring more production online, however that costs money, and what happens to the extra production capacity once the market is saturated. Remeber we are talking about the WII, not even nintendo expected this much demand with it, they can't exactly predict when the market will flood with WII's.
2) If nintendo did double thier production they could flood the market causing a price drop on the retailers part to get rid of excess inventory. (lord knows this will start happening with the glut of PS3's in retail shelves in the USA).
3) If everyone had a WII they wouldn't have many games to play and word of mouth advertising (that nintendo relies on more than anything) plus everyone would have a WII, and the desirablilty would dry up. Remeber it's more fun to anticipate buying a console with few killer apps than it is to own the console with few killer apps.
4) Why burn out the market, and pent up demand when you can save it for the holidays, and really break records. Plus the WII has broken alot of records right now anyways. I'm sure nintendo is squirling away some here and there saving for the massive holiday season when it will have more software to go along with the purchase. Rember right now if you bought a WII you would only get 1-2 games, if they are sold at the holidays they will sell 3-5 games per unit becuse the whole family will group together and mommy will get you the WII, daddy will get you extra controllers, grandma will kick down a game or two, antie will give you a game, and other family memebers will by you games.
5) Nintendo has been watching learning, and reaserching what drives this market. I think they have reached adult hood in the video games buisness, becuse they have learned from many mistakes. Sony is like a reckless teenager right now, and microsoft is the cute toddler.
