Sales Wise? No, I don't believe any of them really have a chance....maybe Heavenly Sword, Mass Effect, and Bioshock have the best chances....but I don't see 4.5 million out of any of them. Score Wise? Probably not again, because now you have to get a 10 to beat out Gears 9.6......Again, Bioshock or Mass Effect here will have the best chance IMO.

I think Bioshock will be the only one around the same high quality as Gears but in terms of Success either Mass Effect or Heavenly Sword.

I dont understand how everyone is predicting Mass Effect will sell alot. Out of 12 of my friends 2 of them know what Mass Effect is. Dont get me wrong, its going to be a great game, its just under the scope of alot of people. Hell, even bioshock isn't very well known.

If Haze is marketed good enough, maybe. I don't know about 4 million, But I can see it hitting around 3 million. Again, it all depends on the marketing.

The PS3 games have a definite chance because of the lack of good games available for the PS3. Regardless of score if Lair is advertized well it could easily break 1 million just because PS3 gamers are looking for some fresh blood.

Comparing Bioshock to Gears! :lol:

Bioshock is going to be one of the greatest games of the decade. It will not only live up to Gears but destroy it in terms of quality. It will obviously not beat it in sales but then again, it is a niche title while Gears is not.

Gears of War was the first videogame I saw advertised in movie theaters. Plus they played the commercials on a lot of channels. If you market it like crazy it sells like crack.

Well hey, I know, I'm just speaking with what we know. IMO from what I've seen I will enjoy Bioschock much more than Gears no matter the score.......I enjoy games that are single player oriented with great atmosphere.

Hello?? Anyone remember howmany Killzone nd Driver 3 sold!!?? THOSE GAMES SOLD TILL THEY DIED. nd they were prolly the most mediocre rated high profilegames of their time. Scores mean nothing in terms of sales. It's all about marketingand being able 2 appeal to a wide audience (online players, offline players etc.).while i DO think Driver 3 was shyte i actually had fun with the killzone title. alot more than i expected.

Agreed completely, but as another poster above said, it will more than likely not even come close to the the sales numbers that Gears had. Not enough casuals are going to buy into a game like Bioshock like they would games like Halo 3 or Gears of War. Even though Bioshock will be twice the game that Gears is (minus online), and despite lower sales, it will still be a "gamers game." Those 'in the know' will know, and appreciate how great it is.

Haze = average shooter Uncharted = Tomb Raider hit the mass market because of boobs. Uncharted doesnt have any. Bioshock = as niche as System Shock Lair = flying dragons = niche Heavenly Sword = has a chance thanks to God of Wars mass market No More Heroes = i doubt it... Blue Dragon = too old school for its own good Lost Odyssey = has a chance but new ip rpgs arent always successful Mass Effect = too hardcore to hit the mass market Too many of the games you mentioned are in a niche market.

Exactly. 50 cent Bulletproof sold more then Okami and Okami was a GOTY contender. Theres two kinds of success. Critical and commercial. Critical success gets a company awards but not money while commercial success gets you money.

You can't compare scores from last year with scores from this year. Standards are higher every year for games. 9.6 for gears doesn't mean anything really. It's a great game, but take for example Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 (PS2) which has gotten a score of 10 out of 10 in 2001. That really doesn't mean anything. It jus means that it was a great game back then. I'd say, if a game gets the same score or a close score to the 9.6 score of gears then it's a better game.

HAZE - I think this game will be pretty successful, primarily because it is a sci-fi FPS

Uncharted - Uncharted will be popular among PS3 fans but it isn't going to sell 4 million

Bioshock - I dunno about Bioshock, it could be a great success or it could sell a million

Lair - It'll sell enough to be considered a success

Heavenly Sword - Again i think it will be popular among PS3 owners, it will sell a fair lot

No More Heroes - Nobody in the western market is going to buy this game, it will probebly get passable sales in Japan

Blue Dragon - Not many people will buy this game in the western markets but...well it sold i think 200,000 copies in Japan, is that a success?

Mass Effect - Big success, millions of X360 owners will own this game

Lost Odyssesy - Kind of like Blue Dragon sold
