Will Crackdown 3 live up the hype in 2018?

Ever since the reveal back in June 2014, Crackdown 3 has it multiple delays, it's seems as if MS wants you to forgot about it. Not to sound negative but I don't think Crackdown 3 looks all that good at all. The last gameplay video I saw left me thinking, it's been downgrade!

I'm still looking forward to Crackdown 3, I don't have any high hopes but I'll still get it for PC.

I think it'll be a fun game, and I'm excited to play it, but I'm not expecting anything special.

Looks like an early 360 game based on what we've seen so far and I don't think extra time in the oven can save it.

As for your claim I don’t find any game on the Xbone worthwhile that’s bullshit. I like Cuphead and so far it’s the only game they’ve released on Xbox/PC this gen that has been worth the hype (and it’s an indie so they can’t even claim it’s from one of their studios). That and maybe Forza Horizon 3 even though I dislike arcade racers for the most part.

@hrt_rulz01: I'm in the same way. I'm not really expecting much coming from Crackdown 3, just another shooter hoping it'll be MS big thing for there Xbox One game. Since there's no Halo 6 news in 2018, (as far as we know) Crackdown 3 is the only thing MS should be hyping about. (Not counting Sea of Thieves)

It comes down to what entertains a person. I know people like to believe there is an objective truth of which piece of entertainment is best/better and therefore it follows if you don't like the so called better you are of lesser quality in preferences of entertainment. Its all an egoic lie humanity tells itself to create hierarchy for anything in life.

As I posted above, I have no idea how people can enjoy games like Penisona 5. No thanks, I don't want to go to a Japanese HS or engage in turn based combat. I'd rather have a massive city that I travel and battle in real time enemies and blow sh!t up in. I know that the majority of game journalists (LOL) grew up on JRPGs like Chrono Trigger and weaboo crap that I didn't care for so these games get the love and appreciation from them.

@davillain-: I'm kinda over waiting for Crackdown 3, loved the first but avoided the second one. This one looked like it was going to be similar to the first so I was going to buy it, but with multiple delays it all but killed it for me. The last straw was the Terry Crews trailer, that killed it for me.

No offense to the guy, but I don't want to see any guy screaming down the screen with the crap he was doing, it's beyond annoying. My only hope is that was just a promo for the game and they keep him out of it.

Ori is great bro, sorry I forgot to include it. FH3 isn't shit it's just that I dislike arcade racing games in general so I can't judge it objectively. Only reason I really enjoyed DCVR is because of the novelty of playing it in VR, the regular DC is a bit on the mediocre side when you compare it to games like GT and Forza. It seems the fans love FH3 though and it has sold very well so I'm sure for fans of arcade racing games it must be legit.

Its funny to me how people love to play the "I'm a neutral" card as if it makes them above anything. LOL sure. I totally get you on racers (arcade for you, any for me). I still don't own FH3 LOL A lem that doesn't own the highest rated X1 game this gen LOL. I have FH 1 & 2 and that covers my racing itch. Ori is great. Playing through definitive edition now and I forgot how challenging it can be. I just don't have nimble thumbs I guess, LOL

Was thinking this also. I know I am looking to have fun with it but being hyped? Nah. I simply want it to be a bit more engaging than Crackdown 2 was. Supposedly delayed for the MP. Would be nice if they can pull that ambitiousness off.

But Hype for me is in Sea of Thieves because I have played it since Feb and love playing in that world. State of Decay 2 because like SoT, if I'm paying $60/year for MP, then I expect the company I am paying to make MP stuff for me to play. Cows say "but 3rd party does that anyway". Well 3rd party also make SP games for me to play. MS and Sony aren't charging me a yearly fee for SP. They are for MP so I expect them to create that kind of content that keeps me engaged. So far for me, MS does so way more than Sony.

The only people starving for PSVR games are PSVR owners. No one else should give a shit.

Last I heard, the Cloud is still there, just not gonna be the same level as we saw from 2014 & 2015. MS jump the gun with the Cloud so early, they got carried away with the tech and it's been never to be mention from that point on.

Most anticipated game of 2018 for me(I live for co-op gaming with friends). Crackdown on Xbox 360 blew me away with the co-op experience and all the crazy abilities with strength/jumping, leveling up vehicles, explosions and etc.. Crackdown 2 was pretty good, the zombie/freaks seemed a bit odd but a blast none the less.

Crackdown 3, fully expect the game to be a blast with co-op campaign. Then seeing the cloud based destruction for the agency tower defense mode for multiplayer, looks like a lot of fun with buildings crashing down and wtf moments of destruction.

People just want Crackdown to be some graphical, emotional, story-telling showcase type game. The series is just about co-op and making destruction with friends using super abilities.

At most I’m expecting a really solid 8/10 game and that’s just fine for me.

Yeah that's what many are looking for from most releases and reviewers, especially here at GS sure do tack on a point for teh emotional story. That's not Crackdown. Never was.

OP needs to get his head out of his ass and play some games. Being an elitist sucks and if you only play games that are 1080p/60fps minimum then I feel sorry for you. Some of the best games of all time have terrible graphics or run at bad framerates. None of that shit matters if the gameplay is good. I still find myself going back to old systems to play games that look and run terribly by today’s standards just because of how fun the games on them are.

Regardless of what cows will tell you, not ALL xbox games are flops.

Horizon, Gears, Halo 5 all scored well all over metacritic.

Horizon is probably the pinnacle racer this gen.

Is there any hype? The single player footage they released earlier this year was really underwhelming in my opinion, and it's usually not a good sign when development gets delayed this much. Obviously there's drama going on behind the scenes.

I don't understand the appeal of this game, to be honest. It just looks like a less crazy post-2 Saints Row, and thr point of those games was to be as wild as possible. The appeal is in their sandbox-like nature. This just looks too focused and restrained.

I guess I'll keep an eye on it, but it doesn't look worth putting up with Windows Store/UWP for.

I never liked the other Crackdown games, and this one looks like another one with graphics you'd expect from an Xbox 360 game. I don't know why MS would bother releasing this years after Sunset Overdrive when there's an open wold game of similar flavor that looks way better, plays way better; Microsoft should be funding the sequel to that instead.

Probably because as I've said all along, kamiya was failing on his end of that partnership also. 3 1/2 years and the game engine was still shit reportedly, not making deadlines. I'd cut ties with a contractor also.
