I mean, these games take quite a long time to make, and I wonder if we'll see any of thier next installments on the ps3, 360 and Wii before the next generation starts?
Well its possible but I'd rather they be launch titles for the next generation of console's. It would be exciting to see those sequels to great RPG's be launch titles to show off what the new and more console's can do. And I love buying a Killer-App calibur launch title whenever I buy a new console. And I wouldn't mind waiting that long because there's most likely going to be plenty of great RPG's to keep us busy this genereation in the mean time.
Well, since i owned a ps2 for most of last gen i'm gonna compare it to the current situation:
the ps2 kicked off with FFX (i think) as its first FF game, it ended up getting FF11 and FF12 so im expecting 2 more FF games after XIII by the end of this gen.
other than RPGs:
Ps2's first MGS was MGS2, it got MGS3 late into its life cycle so i'm expecting the same treatment with the ps3 (that is IF they decide to make another MGS game after 4)
i'm expecting 2 more GTA's after 4 too.
i dunno about elder scrolls since TESIV:O was my first elder scrolls game.
Well Mass Effect I think for sure will have a sequel this generation. I think it would be safe to say FF will too, unsure about Elder Scrolls, but I sure as hell hope so.
ff14 probably, it may be near the later part of the gen, me2 i would think so, and im gonna be optimistic and say yes for elder scrolls and say yes we will, either that or a launch title for next gen
ME2 will surely come out in the 2 years. As for FF14, it really depends which platform its for.
If Square follows its past habits, it'll make FF14 for the most popular system, the Wii. Then it'll come out for this generation easily. If its for PS3, theres a slim chance it'll make it out this gen, especially with all FF13 spin offs planned as well.
I'm pissed off that Fallout 3 is coming to consoles. I mean, I love Consoles, but I love Fallout more, I want to see it get the PC rpg treatment, unlike Oblivion. In any case, if it's HALF as good as the original or it's sequel it will be a stellar game.
Mass Effect is slated to complete its trilogy during the 360s cycle. We'll definitely be seeing Mass Effect 2 but I'm not sure if they'll deliver with the third game in time.
ME2 for sure and possibly ME3. FF14 is a tough call because of all the spin-offs SE hs been working on, if SE goes straight from FF13 to 14 then I'd say yes, but if they decide to take their sweet time milking the FF13 universe than no. Definitely not on ES5, between their quasi-standard 5 year development cycle and Fallout 3 I don't think Bethesda has the resources. And don't forget Dragon Age (which will be out in late 08 or 09), the spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate.
The goal is to have the ME trilogy completed on the 360, so we will definitely see that...
Bethesda already said that the Elder Scrolls 5 would debut next gen. And I believe them. They are averaging an Elder Scrolls per generation at this time.
Final Fantasy 14 is a maybe. 13 has been a development nightmare. I wouldn't be surprised if 14 slips into the next generation.
Traditionality It takes roughly 5 years to make an Elder Scrolls game so we won't see one until the beginning of next gen. We will however see Fallout 3 and with Bethesda's track record it should be a great game.
Mass Effect 2 will definitly be coming out in two years or so.

FF14? This generation? Hell, FF13 does not have a confirmed 08 release date, and your trying to tell me FF14 will push into this current generation? Don't bank on that.
