I don't really care.

It would be good if they had it one Nintendo consoles so other developers can have a chance to use it.

But I'm not really a fan of Epic's games.

To be honest they've had pretty good excuses so far, there's no way it would work on the Wii without cutting out half of the features that make it so great, and the same goes for the 3DS, though I'm sure they could adapt a 3DS version and still keep most of the features, it hardly seems worth it because I think Epic feel like they won't make much money from licensing out the software they way they can with the 360/PS3 and the iOS version. They always said they'd put it on a Nintendo console when they could, and I think if the specs people have said are right, then if they don't put it on Wii 2, a lot of developers will be pissed because they can't port their games (and that's a lot of great games to miss out on) from 360/PS3.

Epic will not need an excuse because UE will obviously be available for the next Ninty console.

Epic is a business, not a fanboy farm. It made sense to a certain extent to skip over the Wii, but unless Nintendo somehow releases the same level hardware AGAIN, then no, this will not be an issue.

I believe some of them when they say that Cliffy B. is a fan of a lot of Nintendo's games mainly the Zelda series.

I really hope Nintendo deliver with the specs so that UE3 and future itterations are compatible with the system. Some of my fave games use the UE.

He's not the be all and end all at Epic though, he's only Design Director, which means whilst he'd have some say in putting an Epic game onto a Wii console, I don't imagine he has much presence when it comes to licensing/adapting tech for consoles, and "I don't like Zelda" definitely isn't a reason to block a ton of other developers access to a console and lose a ton of money in the process.

They don't need an "excuse". If the hardware is capable of running it and it gets enough sales, they'll make a version.

If Ninty has to settle on the UE3 for its next console, they're going to be in a world of hurt when the Xbox and PS4 are running UE4. But hey, whatever floats your boat.

Being that the new nintendo is a contiuation of Generation 7 by hardware standards, its no need for them to invest in older tech.

Are you really accusing Epic of being fanboys. They had a very good reason for not putting it on Wii, it's an extremely underpowered device for its time. It's not like 360 or PS3 where they can just port it over, everything for Wii has to be downgraded or built from the ground up. PS4 and Xbox 361 will probably be much more powerful than Wii 2 so maybe Nintendo will miss out again.

Where did I accuse Epic of being fanboys? Read again.

Ye ok they have good reason not to port to wii, but what about 3ds? Mark Rein said "as soon as Nintendo release hardware capable of running our engine well, we'll be on it like water on fish" or something along those lines.

Ubisoft has got the engine up and running on 3ds apperantly, so why not Epic??

Ubisoft has a modified Unreal Engine 2 or 2.5 (can't remember which but one of those is what Splinter Cell Chaos Theory uses) on the 3DS, NOT Unreal Engine 3.

I don't know but from the looks of it the 3DS is another underpowered console, does it really matter? most people hate the unreal engine.

As in all of the developers that epic have licensed it out to or, the millions and millions of people that have bought games made using the UE's? Most people don't hate the UE.

Unreal Engine gave us Bioshock, Gears, Mirror's Edge, Mass Effect, Arkham Asylum, etc, and is used by tons of devs... who hates it again!?

You don't understand how underpowered the Wii is... the iPhone and iPad are quite powerful devices, as are all smart phones. The Wii has a 730Mhz single core processor and 240Mhz GPU with 88 MB of RAM. The new Samsung Galaxy S 2 is coming with a dual core processor and 1 GB of RAM. Not to mention all these phones output at HD resolutions, while the Wii only can do 480p.

This is completely true. But man it has to hurt that cell phones are more powerful than a wii. XD Also, I think it is more that it would take alot of time and worth to PROPERLY port U3 engine to wii. And then if you look at the software sales for 3rd party games for wii. I don't think it's financially a benifit to them to make a wii-u3 engine.

@all the u3 haters, Many great games have used the engine. And i understand people get sick of the same "features" and graphics, but fact is, if all those games locopatho listed had to make an ENGINE from the ground up as well, we would have had to wait an extra year or two AT LEAST. personally, i think they did fine with it. I mean, theres always gonna be some Jericho's right? ;)

You betcha!

If all those Project Cafe rumours are to be believed and Nintendo bends over to third parties, they'll have another Gamecube in their hands. Epic won't port the UE3/UE4/UE-X because Project Cafe is too brown/smells weird/looks funny and other third parties will ditch it because Nintendo doesn't pay for their ads and distribution or something equally idiotic.

Oh, I'm sure Epic will have no shortage of lame excuses why they can't support Nintendo. If Capcom owned the Unreal Engine 3 technology, they would have already ported it to the 3DS.
