Of course, everyone is adopting LBPs engine.FreewayScruffNot adopting the engine, but wil;l be compared to every other level editor. Even though not even being a similar game. Half life 2 was compared to halo, Crysis was compared to halo, almost every fps is compared to halo. Same with GTA and every sand box. It may not win goty, or win any awards, but if it scores high and sells well, it will probably be the same effect as these games (As it stands EA is already stating that Boom Blox is very similar ot LBP level editor).
Why don't we wait until LBP comes out. There are many good games that simply did not catch on and do that well. Psychonaughts and Killer 7 to name a couple.
And who knows? Maybe the level editor has some flaws. I doubt it, but maybe.
And do you really think people will be activly downloading other peoples levels? I have a feeling its going to be more of 'look what I made' by everyone.
What is the most successful level sharing game where people activly shared levels?
...but Boom Blox is coming out first.
So, will they all be compared to Boom Blox? IGN says yes.

Thats if the game is quality and we all know that previews don't always mean a game will get AAA in the future. Hint: Lair.
It will definetly be the bench mark for future level editors, the possibilites and fun you can have with LBP seems limitless.EVOLV3
Yeah, but people thought the same way about Assassin's Creed and Prey. But I'm really looking forward to LBP. :D

Who seriously thought Assassins Creed or Prey would be "endless fun"? LBP literally is an endless game and I'm sure it will be fun, thus being the only "endless fun game"... ALLRIGHT?

Speak for yourself. I knew Lair was going to be **** the moment I saw the first gameplay video. So did every previewer out there, because they were all either focused on the interviews and the developers boasting, or they were ambivalent, saying "it looks promising" and whatnot instead of being REALLY excited.
RPG maker says high (I believe it was a ps1/PC game).
I really don't see LBP doing to well, most people don't have patience to build stuff especially childish looking stuff.
Now that I see games like boom blox is being compared to LBP, it is bound, and soon will occur, that every game that contains a level editor is going to compared to lbp. Just like the 'halo effect', which now every fps is being compared to halo, and every sand box game is being compared to gta, LBP is the next in line for this treatment. Fanboys/developers will keep on stating that THIS game is the "LBP killer", when it is released. Does anyone agree, that this in some way will occur?numba1234
Spore says hi?
game maker is a huge success, so is the pc modding front. The game levels, will probably be very very short downloads, because the assets are already in the game (the textures, objects, are all in the blu-ray disc), so levels should be around at biggest 500 kb to 2 mb. So around at msot a 10 second install (so people would be absoloutly foolish not to download levels). I don't think it is going to be a look what I made device, more of a game maker/ level creator device. Why don't we wait until LBP comes out. Assasin Creed had a terrible e3 showing. God forbidded awful, everyone then knew the game was going to suck. LBP had amazing trailers, previews, showings, which can't really be bashed. Did Prey, Lair, or any other 'game' that was hyped to this extent show anything as impressive as lbp? Not really.Childish? That didn't stop mario, super smash brothers, banjo kazzoie, star fox, mario kart, sonic, ratchet, sly, jak, spyro, and crash to become the biggest franchises in video games. How many mature titles sold that well. Probably just a small amount :o. ANd how many series scored as well as these series. Very few.RPG maker says high (I believe it was a ps1/PC game).
