Well, you see the first 3 were out in the PS1 era and early PS2 era...of course Forza 2 would be better, that's stupid. Im 90% sure that GT 5 will have damage. PD did say it would take a long time though, especially to get permission from most makers, cuz of course makers dont like seeing their beauties trashed up.

Have you seen the GT5 screens? Hell, the dashboard looks much better than PGR4. By miles. Detailed, and yet good driving style. Gran Turismo is more of a quality title because Polyphony is very passionate about racing and they put so much efforts into their games. So, in my opinion, GT5 will be better. There is promise because all past GT games have rocked.
Well, one thing's for sure... GT5 won't have to worry about which one looks better. Honestly, I just got to play Forza 2 (the full game, not a demo was playable) in a kiosk... Jesus, I was immediately reminded of GT4... only the cities were more impressive in GT4.
Really, this **** is just sad. Don't believe me? Watch any one of these videos on IGN and you'll see what I'm talking about. In some areas GT4 even outclasses Forza 2.

Forza 2 is not that good a game. I bought it on Friday, and thank goodness i bought it used, because I am returning it tomorrow. I was expecting so much more, but the game still has some of the issues Forza 1 had, plus some new ones. Also, I really HATE that you can only sell cars you win for only 100 cr, and they pretty much force you to use the stupid paint and decal thing and auction them to make money. I have no interest in ricing a car out to make it marketable. GT5 has to be better than this. It better be.mazdero

The only point is not the cash, Most of those cars I win, I don't want, but its not worth it to sell them because you only get 100 cr for it. Why do I need to have cars in my garage I don't want? its stupid. Plus, I hate, i repeat HATE rice.a lot of the cars I won are ugly ricey pieces of crap, and I can't de-rice them. I don't play NFS games because of this. Another problem I have, why the hell does a honda civic handle better than an RX7? Why does a 3 rotor engine not sound like a 3 rotor? I love rotaries, and this put the nail in the coffin for me. Also the fact that the 20B-REW engine swap is all motor. Not one 20B-REW engine came N/A, they were all turbo, and they made it sound like a 4 cylinder. Certain cars, when you upgrade them handle like you're on ice even if you adjust the settings, where as others handle perfectly as is. The game is unbalanced.
I'm going to take it back and get Bioshock, or put the money down on Heavenly Sword.

Your complaints are just extremely petty. It's your game, do what you want with it, but you haven't ever had a better driving sim available on consoles. You might not like Bioshock because the shotgun blast will be 80 decibels when in real life it's 100 decibels....or maybe the color of the lifebar will be a shade of red you don't care for.

You should have asked if I raced before....so I could have shut down this argument...I do in fact. My familiarity with "Wankel" engines and my turbo avatar should have tipped you off that at least you weren't dealing with a noob.

I am not a Forza fan, I am a racing sim fan. Up to this point, I have only played GT's, because I liked them better. I recognize, as you should, that no sim to this point has been as accurate or detailed in every aspect as forza. Plain and simple. Your standards are TOO high from my estimation. oh, and the difference between a b16 honda and your rotariessoundwise is all but significant. You'll barely notice the difference without a trained ear. It's also not that surprising that they would have taken a little more time recording more popular engine sounds at all. Honda Vtec's are much more important on the grand scale than mazda's wankel design ever was.

For me the GT games fall flat on their face in a much more important area...the racing element is totally lacking. Which is fairly important in a rcaing game...well I think so. Hitting rival cars or walls means nothing in GT games and it really annoys me that they have done nothing to sort this out!!! Its not like they haven't had enough chances to put this right!
Racing in GT is dull...i mean really dull. All you need to do is strap on a nice big turbo and blast your way round the tracks, don't worry about the walls or other cars, they won't even slow you down.
I loved the first few GT's when they came out, they were total car p0rn - but they just never improved as the series moved on.
Forza was like a breath of fresh racing air. The racing is competetive and fun. You have to be careful how hard you push. You have to pick your over taking spots, you have to be aware of your rivals and your surroundings. Its a much better racing game and alot more fun to play.
GT is a pretty game, with pretty cars and pretty tracks....it just lacks the racing element. They might put this right in GT5 but I really really doubt it. They will have spent their time adding more and more cars and making sure they look even more shiney than in the GT4.

I can let you listen to what my car sounds like when the wastegate opens up, and then listen to what the RX7 in GT sounds like when you are WOT, and they sound very similar. IMO GT is the better game. While the settings from my car don't work on GT, the settings I have in the game make more sense then they do in Forza.
NO game will be like real life. If you put real life suspension settings into a game and it acted exactly like your car does, that is the best racing sim EVER, and they never need to make another one. I'm sorry, but there is a reason Civics and RX7's run in different classes my friend. Acivic would not stand a chance on a road course with an RX7, mod for mod. Hell it takes a lot of mods for a civic to even handle like a bone stock RX7 lol.
I'll give you points for being a miata owner though. I built one with IRTB's, and it was a good time.

Also, I really HATE that you can only sell cars you win for only 100 cr, and they pretty much force you to use the stupid paint and decal thing and auction them to make money. You don't need to sell the cars off to make cash in Forza as in GT. Winnings, plus discounts, are more than enough to buy whatever you want.
I don't really understand what you would dislike about it so much. GS doesn't give out scores like that for nothing.
I'll let you in on a little secret, I don't care about the score a website gives a game. I rated it for myself and it blows.
The only point is not the cash, Most of those cars I win, I don't want, but its not worth it to sell them because you only get 100 cr for it. Why do I need to have cars in my garage I don't want? its stupid. Plus, I hate, i repeat HATE rice.a lot of the cars I won are ugly ricey pieces of crap, and I can't de-rice them. I don't play NFS games because of this. Another problem I have, why the hell does a honda civic handle better than an RX7? Why does a 3 rotor engine not sound like a 3 rotor? I love rotaries, and this put the nail in the coffin for me. Also the fact that the 20B-REW engine swap is all motor. Not one 20B-REW engine came N/A, they were all turbo, and they made it sound like a 4 cylinder. Certain cars, when you upgrade them handle like you're on ice even if you adjust the settings, where as others handle perfectly as is. The game is unbalanced.
I'm going to take it back and get Bioshock, or put the money down on Heavenly Sword.
You don't have to like the game BECAUSE of the review score, but it's a pretty safe bet that something in the 9's is going to be free of major flaws.
And now I'll let you in on a secret....some cars handle better than others. OMG!!! they got the Wankel engine note incorrect!!! TAKE THIS GAME OFF THE MARKET!!
Your complaints are just extremely petty. It's your game, do what you want with it, but you haven't ever had a better driving sim available on consoles. You might not like Bioshock because the shotgun blast will be 80 decibels when in real life it's 100 decibels....or maybe the color of the lifebar will be a shade of red you don't care for.
Guy, I race inREAL life, and perform REAL modifications on my car, and see and feel what those REAL modifications do tomy cars performanceon track. in no way shape or form should a riced out Honda civic, out perform an RX7. In no way shape or form should a fully raced out car withracing slicks drive like its on ice.And since it is aracing SIM, they need to get the cars right, including all the sounds. As an enthusiast, I find it to be a HUGE let down that one of my favorite engines of all time sounds like a friggin 4 cylinder. Oh, but they got the Honda Vtec right didn't they? its pathetic.
Just because something is in the 9's does not mean it is free of major flaws. That is fanboy logic, as only fanboys take a game score as the definitive reason to own a game. So PDZ was free of major flaws and was a great game? I have played 8 and 7 games that were better than some 9's games.
According to YOU there has not been a better driving sim on consoles because you are a forza fan. I am a fan of good games, and Forza doesn't cut it. I play games to suit MY tastes,not yours, and if I think It blows, I am not going to play it.
Don't be daft, Bioshock is awesome. I just rate RACING games differently than most because I actually RACE. Its not my fault your standards are so low.

I am not a Forza fan, I am a racing sim fan. Up to this point, I have only played GT's, because I liked them better. I recognize, as you should, that no sim to this point has been as accurate or detailed in every aspect as forza. Plain and simple. Your standards are TOO high from my estimation. You demand absolute perfection or nothing. Well, it don't go down like that son. You must not like any game ever made because,here's another secret....they all have flaws.
oh, and the difference between a b16 honda and your rotariessoundwise is all but significant. You'll barely notice the difference without a trained ear. It's also not that surprising that they would have taken a little more time recording more popular engine sounds at all. Honda Vtec's are much more important on the grand scale than mazda's wankel design ever was.

The rx7 is awsome - its one of my favourite cars...that i'll sadly probably never own. Real life has eventually caught up with me.
And whilst we are chatting cars..thats one thing that Forza has had over GT in the past. The online support in Forza is a great palce for petrol heads to meet up and talk cars. I believe the new GT is going to be online, which is good

I loved GT until I played Forza. Forza opened my eyes to what I had been missing out on in GT.....GAMEPLAY!
