What do you guys think? Imagine have the map and inventory on the touch screen tablet, or being able to use the radio on the tablet as well. Loved GTA Chinatown Wars on the DS hope Rockstar brings GTAV to the Wii U.

people keep saying it will be more powerful, but will it matter when the devs themselves will just port the 360/ps3 versions over without taking advantage of the new specs ?I would hope so seeing as the Wii-U should be more powerful than the HD twins

Sorry, unlike Nintendo Rockstar just doesn't do gimmicks.

You might not want to play Chinatown Wars then.Rockstar North hasn't worked with a Nintendo platform since their DMA design days. I think they have some bad blood. Chinatown wars was Rockstar Leeds I think
Well third party largely abandoned the Gamecube and then the Wii was very underpowered compared to the HD twins. I imagine that's a lot of it.Rockstar North hasn't worked with a Nintendo platform since their DMA design days. I think they have some bad blood. Chinatown wars was Rockstar Leeds I think

Why not?vashkeyUnless it's incredibly easy to port to the WiiU, which it may be, there'll be no point.
Probably not. Unless it's easy to port, that is probably a real long shot. Then again a Wii U launch title might intrigue them. The typical Nintendo audience does not however...

I think the plan with Wii-U is to expand it's appeal past the "typical Nintendo audience" (since when were all of those against M-rated game btw?) as well.

Someone's never played GTA: Chinatown Wars ;)don't you think that the Nintendo family friendly zealots will protest to protect their innocent children?hippiesantaThat does worry me a little. I remember the complaints from parents about the Wii Zapper when it barely looked anything like a real gun. I also wonder if Manhunt 2 would have been censored so much if it were not on the Wii, I got the Wii version and its very tame compared to the original.
It might but if it does it will be a straight up port of the PS3/360 versions IMO. Also, the last thing I want is the mini map and stuff on the controller...Its going to be extremely annoying to look down at your controller, see everything, then look up at your TV all in a split second as you're driving and probably crashing from taking the time to look at your controller screen. NO THANK YOU.

Unless it's incredibly easy to port to the WiiU, which it may be, there'll be no point. GTA one of the greatest if not the greatest selling franchise ever. There is no point?? If it's not on the system, the franchise will never be on Nintendo consoles. "Because it's just too hard" lol That's not a Nintendo tag line.[QUOTE="vashkey"]Why not?shinrabanshou
Are people ignoring that just because GTAV was just announced, doesn't mean that it's just beginning development.if it comes out late nex year then theres a godd chance that it will
Mario1331
GTAV has likely been in development since early-to-mid 2010 after Red Dead Redemption was completed. Possibly even earlier. Wii U dev kits only went out mid this year, and weren't even in final form as far as I'm aware.
Unless it's an easy port, it's not going to release day and date, and probably won't even happen.
It should, it has enough disc space, and its already comfirmed that it is stronger than the HD twins (though by what amount is unknown). It being a launch title would sell the system.

Well there was that rumor going around about GTA5 being shown at E3 for the Wii-U. So maybe it will be on it. The darksiders devs ported that game to the Wii-U really fast so I guess Rockstar could do the same with GTA5 if they wanted to.

GTA5 has LIKELY been in development a few months after they finished GTA4. They started GTA4 right after San Andreas btw and there are multiple Rockstar teams (RS San diego made RDR, while RS North made GTA4).

Actually, I believe someone on some other forum (NeoGAF I think) said something about devkits being out since December last year...but I'm not sure if that's correct or not.
Either way, this is exactly the type of game Nintendo would love to have as a launch title as it would definitely move systems and would fall right in line with trying to appeal to the "gamer." I would bet Nintendo went hard after Rockstar for this, and therefore, I'm more inclined that it will be on it as a port.

You're wrong on this one. Manhunt 2 was denied the M-rating by the ESRB unless they censor it. It had nothing to do with Nintendo.
I doubt it will. Even if it did, chances are the WiiU would launch after the game is released and anyone who wanted it would already have it.

Don't see how a potentially great control feature is a "gimmick". Maybe we'll look back at games in 10 years and think "I had to stop the game to access my inventory/maps?" and laugh.[QUOTE="Ravensmash"][QUOTE="wiifan001"]Won't support it.
