Will GTA V even look this good?

I've always wondered how GTA4 had such an active mod community despite how horrid the port was.

I agree GTA IV looks pretty horrible but I insist on playing the games like they're originally made to be.

It depends! If GTAV comes out this gen, no; but with mods, then yes.

If it comes out next gen ... well who knows!

GTA V won't look like those pictures but I have no doubts that it will look good. However the gameplay and story is more important for me.

I personally loved GTA and thought its story and gameplay were much better than any previous game, but I know I am in the minority.

If Ps4/xbox3 doesn't handle that then that'll be quite disappointing.

No and I hope it doesnt. I like the "cartoon art-style" that R* uses for GTA games. Not everything has to look as if im outside.Fuhgeddabouditt

I think you're giving too much credence to how important that is to the developer's vision.

Even Super Mario Bros. has an "hd" remake (super mario all stars).

GTA5 will look better in my eyes because it won't be a re skinned version of a game I beat over 3 years ago ;)

How long will that last. Many already consider the game really boring, repetetive, and overrated. I guess if you dip the game's visuals in a jar of vasaline it will become better somehow.

If the lead platform is the PS3, then yes. The PS3 just keeps getting better with it's visuals, and with blu-ray, it can handle visuals that the 360 can't. I know the PS3 can do those visuals for sure.hoogiewumpus

I'm not so sure about that. I think you underestimate how powerful modern day PC hardware is, and how quickly modern hardware becomes the norm. Reports are that this mod is buggy, but the frame rates are playable on at least the following cards:

• HD4870
• GTX285

Which is by no means top of the line by today's standards. Both of these cards were released 2-3 years ago, as far as I remember. If owners of these cards or better are still a minority, it's a fairly large and growing minority. And all the developers have to do is ensure the game can scale down to their lowest common denominator.

Anyone thinking "consoles are good enough" just had their minds blown.

Next gen consoles will probably be motion control focused, cost about the same as current consoles, and be marginally more powerful.

If you want teh epics, get the P-see.
