Will Halo 5 flop after 343's last 2 games?

Halo 4 didn't flop and neither did TMCC, even with its slue of problems it still did really well and was rated as such.

Halo 4 AAAE and MCC was mugged here, an 8.0 would have been moooaar appropriate and after all the fixes is now AAAAE so Halo 5 is in great hands and shall continue the Halo AAAE history. :P

they showed one CGI trailer (no single player gameplay)

they showed like 1 map in multiplayer

usuaully ppl show off tons of gameplay an stuff and are like look how awesome this game is gonna be

we haven't seen anything of that an its coming out in like 5 months im very worried about this game

TMCC should have been rated an 8 here, I agree, it had some problems but Watters should have accounted for the undeniable reality that sometimes problems like that are unforeseen and will be corrected ASAP, a 6 is just ridiculous. Even if the collection sported no multi-player whatsoever it would still be an 8/10.

Even if you're not into racers you should give Horizon 2 a whirl, it's more of a driving game than a racer and has a ton to offer, one of my favorite games on the system for sure.

Hello, E3 is in a few months, that is the whole point, they're holding back until the main gaming event of the year....

The multiplayer was pretty awesome man with a lot of good ideas and new features, not sure what in the hell you're babbling about...

nope i played it, it was like 5/5 on a small boring map

the game made me want to jump right back into advanced warfare within the second game i joined

i liked the bigger morefun maps in CoD and more players

halo 5 the maps were small less detailed and 5/5 isn't big enough for my needs

remember what happened last time microsoft waited for e3 sony announced stuff early and while microsoft sat around for e3 and then had to quickly announce stuff cuz ppl were gttin hyped for ps4

its not good to just set times an wait, you gotta do your own marketing, look at avengers and marvel they bring stuff to comic con but they also do there own things and don't bank on it they show off stuff all the time cuz there product is good

The beta was good and worked well, so all we got to worry about is the SP.

What have they released to garner the hype they get? They picked up the Halo franchise after Bungie was done with it and the series hasn't been the same since. They messed up the coop on the original Halo Anniversary Edition with unbearable amounts of lag online, Halo 4 online was dead within weeks and it just didn't feel like Halo anymore, The atmosphere and story just felt off compared to previous games. MCC online has been a joke and I know lems say it's fixed now, but i still have trouble getting into a room with friends, I still have to wait too long for match making, and the coop gets very laggy. The Halo 5 Beta felt more like CoD than Halo. Destiny feels more like Halo than the Halo 5 Beta.

I hope they have improved, but as of now, Halo 5 isn't day one for me. I won't be fooled by 343 and the media hype again. Fool me once shame on me for thinking that Halo Combat Evolved online coop would be flawless like Halo 3, fool me twice, it must be because I bought into the Halo 4 hype train, Fool me a 3rd time, I admit I'm a Halo fan and had high hopes for MCC and never thought it could be messed up at launch, fooling me a 4th time isn't an option 343, it just isn't. I wish Bungie still had the halo franchise because in my eyes, 343 is doing everything they can to ruin it. Fanboys are getting all hyped over 2 live action commercials, i just don't get it anymore. Prove yourselves 343, because to me, you've only proven that you aren't capable of handling the Halo franchise with the respect it deserves.

The recent state of Halo games has made me a bit sad. I bought my X1 for Halo, so it troubles me that one of my favorite franchises is going downhill. I know I'll get flack for speaking against Halo, but it's how I feel about it at this point.

343i is a great dev team and didn't mess up anything for me ... I think they improved halo in halo 4 and are looking to do the same with halo 5 ... the halo collection was amazing and is the best collection anyone has put together

I think 343i is a better dev team then all of sony's devs except for maybe naughty dog ... then again i wonder what uncharted or the last of us would of done on xbox ... those are flag ship titles for ps4 but on xbox it be like its 3rd and 4th best selling game and wouldn't be nothing more then filler on xbox for another halo or gears of war ... on sony consoles they are considered great games ... on other consoles not so much

343i have lots of potential.

Not only Halo 4 was very good (better than Bungie's ODST and Reach), it was also one of the best looking last generation games.

Actually people were getting more hyped for Wii U since Nintendo won last years E3. Microsoft showed a ton of stuff before and during the E3. Sony really didn't outshine anyone last E3. They spent 30 mins talking about TV and their Powers show. I remember, because that's when I fell asleep while watching. M$ showed nothing but games and more games. I'm sure they will do the same thing this year as well. We'll see what broken promises Sony delivers this E3. We still haven't gotten No Man's Sky,Deep Down, Rime or Last Guardian and it's been almost 2+ years. Are we even going to get a new GT game this year?

Yeah, kinda forgot about that, I don't think we'll need to worry about how great this game's SP will look heck, Halo 4 almost looks next gen... Almost. :P

graphics don't make a gaem fun especially when they don't have the similiar feel

mario from 2d to 3d capture the same feel

halo 3 to halo 4 graphics 343 DIDNT capture the same feel the alien don't look as fun at all an look dark an ugly halo 4 sucked all the fun outa the franchise period

the story is getting worse every game 343 makes i like it better when i feel like im the masterchief and he more funny and friendly and not some hardcore robot

343 could delet halo 4 from MCC and replace it with ODST/Reach and i would be MUCH MUCH happeier so don't say u speak for all of us halo 4 the worst game on the disc imo

Anyway, i didn't say that the game was good because of it's graphics. It did look impressive, but i liked it because it felt like like a Halo game to me, unlike ODST and Reach. That Memmoth level, in particular, couldn't have been more Halo-ish. It's one of the most epic levels in the whole series.

A lot of people think they learned their lesson. A LOT of people.

I still don't know. Looking at the youtube trailers the series still has hype behind it, but if they mess up again for the first next generation Halo release I think Halo will go on a much faster downward spiral than COD. Halo 6 would be lucky to cross 4 million units.

Everything is possible but I'm very confident it will not flop. I was very satisfied with the beta, and I enjoyed Halo 4 a lot. Sure they messed up with MCC, but imo the game is worth the price simply for the single player campaigns and they should have just launched without the multiplayer portion and added that later when it was better tested(kind of like when GTA5 launched).

Halo 5 is pretty much the Xbox One's flagship title and it's not just about 343 anymore, after the MCC fiasco they are probably getting more support from MS to ensure a better launch this time. Looking forward to Halo 5!

I just have a feeling the attention to detail, the gameplay, the intrigue, the dialog, the story, everything is going to be bigger and better this time around. I think 343i is on the path at attempting to make the best Halo game we have yet to experience. Do I think it will outscore Halo: CE? No, that game scored so high because it was not only good, it was new and original, but I think this game will be a solid 95 on metacritic.

Yes we do....I have BloodBorne and MLB The Show 15 on the PS4 lol.....I'm not playing much on the One right now ( except NBA 2K15 ) after beating the excellent Ori.

They review products on release and not what they are going to be. You can't just magically review the future fixes games.

Halo is known for its multiplayer. Multiplayer was an option in the menus to play except you couldn't.

I have faith because there is absolutely zero way MS will screw up the franchise after the disaster that was MCC. They will not make the make mistake twice.

I have yet to turn on my xboxone since halo 5 beta. If they fail with Halo 5, I am just going to sell it and be done with it.

You can rate it fairly though based upon the inevitable reality that it will be fixed though, a review reflects on a product for the life of its existence, not just its release. If the game is no longer a 6 a few months down the line what rational does it hold to keep it as a 6? This isn't 1995 where reviews are in magazines and can't be changed, this isn't a movie review where the substance of the content is static, it's a game and games change.

It had gamebreaking SP and MP bugs. Hardly "mugged". If anything, they were generous.

No you shouldn't rate a game in what it should be or what you magically think its going to be in a month.

I am not going to rate a broken game like Driveclub based on what I think its going to be like after a month. Socom on ps3 was shipped out completely broken and scored a 6. Games are reviewed based on their state at launch. Launch isn't a beta test.

Reviewers get Reviewer/day one copies for a reason. Its what they are evaluating.

Allowing broken games to be acceptable/passable only hurt gamers and give industry an opening to ship out broken/buggy games. Gamers have already been exploited enough with ridiculously day-one DLC or DLC on a disc. Shipping out a broken game is just pushing us too far. We aren't just cash cows. We should demand quality. Launch games aren't beta tests. Launch games are the final product that the company is satisfied shipping out to the consumer.

Halo got slammed in reviews. They got slammed by hardcore fans of the franchise. They got slammed by gamers. There was a huge outcry. MS heard it. MS won't make the same mistake again.

I am sick and tired of gamers getting exploited. Its BS. Its wrong.
