Will history look kindly on the xbone?

At worst it will be seen as a disaster. At best it will still be seen as inferior to the PS4.

If it were to crash and burn people would probably praise it as one of the all time best platforms. They'd talk up how visionary and ahead of its time the Bone was and even the average or all out mediocre exclusives would be considered gems. Oh poor Xbone the victim of this harsh industry. :'(

Of course the Xbone is doing fine and there is no chance of that happening and there is no way to tell how things will turn out. If I had to guess, I'd say it will be a good competitor to the PS4. It'll probably lag behind in most areas, but will be well worth owning and fondly remembered by many.

The 3rd faster selling game console a disaster? Unlikely.

A disaster would be the PSP Go or Nintendo's Virtual Boy.

The system will do just fine one everything is put into place.

It'll depend on the ammount of high quality exclsuives the xbone will provide. After all, exclusives is what makes a console

As long as MS supports it, the Xbone will be fine.

Xbox One will be looked back as something positive, why? Well because they changed those anti-consumer laws and fixed them. Now with Phil Spencer being in control - who promises to satisfy core gamers - and focus on making games things will only get better.

I think historians are more interested in geo-political events, culture, art, and other topical information; not sure Xbox One is high on their list for retrospective discussion.

Well being that Sony fans don't now, and there are more of them, I doubt they will ever. But time will tell. Games are what either will be remembered or not, so we just have to wait and see.

I hear ya, my PC has distracted me. Lately having issues with different games not playing/crashing. One reason I hate PC gaming. I'm on DR3 also. Adding after Ranger game

It's interesting that Hearthstone is currently superior to any xbone exclusive. Times are dire.

It all depends on the outcome of the Xbox One. If the Xbox One can't mount a comeback against the PS4, it'll be seen as quite possibly one of the worst blunders in gaming history - up there with PS3 / E3 2006 etc.

Haha, I don't have to read up on console history man, I'm nearing my mid 30s. And it's not true of most failed consoles, but it's true of those from an established brand in the market. The examples are extremely few and far between because established console makers don't bite the dust very often at all.

I'm guessing by your reaction you're probably a bit young, but I'm sure you can at least remember the Dreamcast.

If people think the XBO is a flop or a failure, I'd have loved to hear what they thought of things like the 32X or the 3DO.

The xbone is doing great all things considered. Personally I would never buy one after the shit they tried to pull. However it seems to be selling pretty good for an overpriced and underpowered console. This just tells me people are dumb. Last gen the 360 broke in record numbers. You would think gamers would be like once bitten twice shy.

Foe the price of a xflop you could just build a pc that would destroy the xflop and get almost all the games.
