I don't want to upgrade to the xbox360 Elite but I am interested in IPTV that will be released in the near future. Will this service work on my current xbox360 premium or would I need to upgrade to the Elite that as the HDMI port?

MS said all 360's are IPTV ready, so use common sense HeHateMe_basicSo, whats the point of gettting the xbox360 Elite?

Good question. You want your HDMI? You want your 120 HDD? Then the Elite is just for you. Oh, what's this? You already own a 360? Back to your question. What's the point of the Elite? Simple. It's MS way of answering to the PS3. And to screw over us 10+ million consumers who already have a 360. Get the jist?
I wouldn't say providing consumers with more options is really screwing anyone over. If you don't want those things then you don't have to buy it, at least it isn't all forced on you. Do you know if MS plans to sell the HD seperately or not tho? If not than I'll admit that would be a little unfair on those of us who already have a 360Good question. You want your HDMI? um how is MS screwing anyone on this. its not like all games from now on will only play on the new system. you could buy the upgrade HDD if you want more space. and the vga cable will offer the same if not better picture than hdmi. soo how is it anyone is loosing anything here?[QUOTE="neversummer75"][QUOTE="HeHateMe_basic"]MS said all 360's are IPTV ready, so use common sense DuckyindianaSo, whats the point of gettting the xbox360 Elite? I have an hdmi capable tv(27" olevia), but I don't see how it would make the picture better than what it is with component.

Im not saying its that much better but if you compare there is a very slight difference, may not be the same with games i can i go by what i have seen with hd movies. And i don't think its worth getting hdmi to be honest there is only a slight difference .

I've already spent $400 on a 360. I see no reason to spend either of those amounts for an "upgrade". Options you say? Yeah. Options to watch my wallet get raped of money. It's a good thing MS didn't include a built in HD-DVD. Otherwise MS would be the laughing stock of the gaming industry.

Not sure about HDMI, but I'm using my 360 with the VGA cables, hooked up to a 37" WS LCD, and they look much better then the component connection.

In terms of uncompressed date, yeah. There is a different. And Kojima is going to prove this with MGS4.

Some consumers could not care less about IPTV on their 360. If I didn't think the product I was getting was a good deal when i bought it I wouldn't have. I waited until it had enough games I wanted and bought it for the games. This is what you should do with every product and this way you will never feel ripped off because of future events.

You're forgeting a small factor. When a company is going to "re-release" system, should you expect the price to go up or down? Hrm. Gee. I wonder.

Why is that relevant to me? I already own one and was fine with the price I paid. if I wasn't I wouldn't have bought it. Simple as that really.

Because, like the PS2, people will repurchase a system for the sake of wear and tear, blah blah blah. We never saw this trend last generation with consoles. People just need to accept the fact that MS made the Elite to contend with the PS3's functionality. I know this may not be relevant to you, but in some cases, it should be in the next couple of years.
