Will MGS4 still be the most overrated garbage ever if they port it to 360?

This game is bashed to hell and back for being convoluted, "generic", more movie than game, milking the fans, overrated, etc. I am sure you can (and will) come up with more adjectives.

I wonder if the game will see a remarkable boost in quality if they announce a 360 port?

Basically, consider this an official MGS4-bashing thread, vent about how overrated the game is so we can have some epic lulz when MS announces a port as their MEGATON this year at GDC or E3.

I'll start. Worst story ever. It's way too complex and convoluted for anyone to have any emotional attachment to any of the characters whatsoever.

Btw, this is not intended to start a flame war, this is purely an investment in eventual epic lulz for the greater good of System Wars. Do it for SW!

MGS4 is one of my favourite games this gen, an epic ending to the story of Solid Snake. Receiving almost 93% on GamRankings. Man that game is good

Every single game on every single platform that scores and sells well is bashed to no end on this forum. MGS4, Halo 3, KZ2, Gears 2, SMG, etc etc. It's all the same tiresome act.

I only got to play the first two acts becaus I had to borrow a friends ps3 as I refuse to buy one, but from what ive played I dont like it as much as I like mgs2.

I think its a good game. On the other hand, if it goes multiplat im sure it will sudenly stop being called the best game ever.

But it won't come to the 360...

I never liked the game and I own the MGS4 80GB PS3 Bundle.

I wouldn't call it "garbage", though. Just not my bag.

As a PC gamer, installs are fine. Taking care of 5 discs is epic fail. You damage or lose 1 disc it's all over. Swapping discs is obsolete.

The in-game Sony and Apple easter eggs (even in the cutscenes) will be a nightmare for MS to get around. So I'm not getting my hopes up for a port.

EDIT: The whole issue of multiple discs however isn't really that big of a deal BTW.

To be safe, I would say maybe 2. Whilst a lot of MGS4 is uncompressed sound, we do not know exactly, unless Kojima Productions comes out and says "5gb was taken up by textures, 3gb by blah blah blah". Compression techniques are good, and could possibly get it onto one disc. However we don't know specifics enough.

I guess you guys didn't know a Butters growing up. Or you WERE a Butters growing up! :lol: The way he's always whining about getting grounded, how when he pees he pulls his pants down to the floor and pulls his shirt up (HAHAHAHAHA), how he continues to hang out with guys who make him eat **** all the time, how naive and optimistic he is despite all the crap he has seen go down... Butters is an absolute classic and him being the best character on the show is almost the only genuine thing I have said in this thread. Refer to the episode where he goes on Maury with balls on his chin to see what I mean. The first time I saw that I almost blacked out from laughing.

A close second to Butters, for me, is Randy Marsh. Cartman is too easy. He is everyone's favorite. And with good reason (Scott Tenorman Must Die).

Towelie is widely considered one of their worst characters ever, but I think that was the point. They even say that to him at the end of the Okama Gamesphere episode. "Wanna go get high?" is a pretty popular catchphrase, despite him being their supposed worst. I think Pip is worse. They totally discarded him when they realized Butters was a way better person for Cartman to antagonize. Tweak also fell by the wayside, though Craig seems to be finding his niche.
