Will Microsoft be the top dog? Market Value - 275.85B ( Good Discussions)

Im a business major and someone in my class brought upthe topic of the gamming industry. My classmate said sony would win based on thier history and brand name. Iconcluded thatmicrosoft would winjust because they have more money to burn and they could pay for thier losses with the profits from thier other divisions. My professor went on to agree with my assesment, citing the major differecnce in market value between sony and microsoft.Another student agreeing with my assesment went on to say that Microsoft will always be at a lower price point and that sony will always be playing catch up. He also said that is sony ever matched thier price point microsoft would be in a better position to offer better bundle packs as incentives.

Microsoft has much much more to worry about than the 360, They cant just take all of their money and burn it on the 360.

Yep even after he gave away more then 50 billion to charity, he still has more money then most major companies. He gives tonnes of it away every year, the man gives over a half a billion dollars to charity each year.

Sale mean jack to me in all honesty. All it means is that someone that is (in this case) a # bought the console. Do i know this person? Nope. Sales don't make a console.

MS has money...everyone knows that. They've got more money than Nintendo and Sony combined i'd guess. It's a guess though...so don't start whining to me.

there are other factors as well. For instance, Sony is a hardware manufacturer while Microsoftmainly deals in software. I think that is why Sony was able to cut costs on the ps2 more than the other companies could with their consoles. Also, remember Japan, where microsoft is quite a bit behind the other two consoles
