Will MS try to make a new console before the PS3 gets to run at full steam?

face it the Wii has first place and will stay there. the Xbox is a hole in MS's pocket money just keeps falling out and yes that includes the money spent for "extra content" the future looks bright for the PS3 I can see that there long term plan is coming together nicely. MS can only hope to try to make an all new console soon to ty to steal the PS3's thunder.

This gen it really seems the japanese market has Sony's future in its grasp.

The PS3's future looks "bright"? That's assuming Lair, Heavenly Sword, and Warhawk are AAA titles.

Otherwise, it's just grim.

Will Microsoft make a new console? Nope. Bioware is planning a trilogy for Mass Effect on the 360 (which is why you "PS3" gamers will probably never see a port on your $1600 rig). So I doubt it.

Sony is more likely to ditch the PS3 for a stripped-down more-affordable system.

Do you see some invisible storm the rest of us can't see? The PS3 atm is doing god awful and even the games coming out this year look awful (with the exception of rachet and clank)

Xbl is a great service, I don't see how Sony Online is going to compete. There is a hi def dvd player you can add if you want, I like the option to not being forced to if you want the system(PS3). How will the PS3 have more exclusives? Only thing I agree with slightly is the failure rate, and in time I think they will handle it and it will be forgotten.

If you look at the numbers they sit exactly where the 360 was. The wii will die out eventually after the winter (what do they have after Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros, and Wii Kart?) Gameswise Uncharted, Ratchet, UT3, and Haze are about it i agree. It isn't doing awful though compared to other HD machines.

PSN already has dedicated servers and xlive doesn't. Home is coming and BR movie rental service + they're always improving it. It's on its way to being better.

I don't know, but I'd like to know, besides Grand Theft Auto IV and Resident Evil 5, what games are coming out for either the 360 or PS3 in 2008 and beyond? Chances are, you won't be able to list many.

I think that too. Let's see Xbox had 4 years of life 2001-2005(They stopped making games for it in 2007, so we can say 6 years). So we can say Xbox 360 will prolly disappear around 2010-2011 and maybe MS will release another console. Although I think MS should just turn into making software, I mean turn into a third-party developer.

ut3 isn't exclusive, it is on pc and soon on 360.

Interesting question, I'd say no.

While I do think PS3 will take over 360 worldwide in 2008, I don't think MS will abandon their console. They're being very competitive this gen, and it will pay off for them I believe.

Isn't that the point of a Long term plan........

Making another console so soon isn't a good idea, because that'd mean the 360's user base would be locked under 15 million and dev support would have to shift from the 360 to the next console, which won't happen because there are other consoles plus the PC to turn to.

MS is better off making sure the PS3 doesn't get to run at full steam.
