It's horrible when I see gamers with the Wii hooked up to their HDTV and it doesn't give their games the boosties.

Well.. considering PC gamers have had HD for about 10 years, you've certainlyy been able to play all your previous generation's games fine despite other having HD. Why is it a big deal now?

Remember that they wanted to make a console with immediate profit. HD would have hindered that. Nindendo wasn't very well off the beginning of this gen, or at least not as well off as they wanted to be.

No, they never will because Nintendo doesn't know anything about HD. They're too stupid.
Unlike Sony and Microsoft who have given us great True HD games ALL in Native 1080p and running at 60FPS month after month.

sarcasm, i hope.
if not, you owned yourself pretty bad.

Yet a console released over a YEAR before can have full HD support. This is just another example of Nintendo selling its followers short. I jumped of the Nintendo train with the GC before it crossed the broken bridge called the Wii and it was one of the best choices I have made.[QUOTE="fishfake"]Terrible excuse. many people dont had an hd tv 2 years ago and from that point nintendo did it right (look at sales)
if you realy think gaming is nothing without hd than stop asking yourself why the 360 or ps3 is not selling look crazy !
you sound like a person who is complaining why crysis is not selling million's of copy's and not realise that only 5% can run it on there ps's
Of course, anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool. HD is the next evolutional progression for consoles, so it will happen eventually. Even Nintendo knows the importance of keeping up with its competitors graphically (based on the NES, SNES, N64, and GC's hardware design anyway). We're all hardcore gamers here so most of us own HD televisions and if not, we know about them, but you'd be surprised how little the average person knows about HD. I've seen tons of 360's hooked up to HDTV's with only the standard AV cables instead of the component ones, and a lot of people don't even know what they're for. By 2010 or 2011 when Nintendo makes a new a console, HD will most likely be a mainstay and Nintendo will then create an HD console.
If you study Nintendo's business strategies, the idea of using older technology and releasing it as a widely available comodity to the public has been used a lot in the past. The Gameboy was a prime example. Much weaker than its competitors, but became the beginning of the most popular handheld franchise of all time.

why would they? unlike sony and ms, Nintendo only does videogames.
thats why their consoles only play videogames.
Relax yourself there, you're making it seem like adding an extra feature is a bad thing. And please don't go and crown Nintendo as the gaming gods just because their consoles aren't compatable with DVDs. You're just twisting the problem in a way that praises Nintendo for no real reason.

Nintendo wanted to make a cheap console easily available to families everywhere.

adding something is always good but only if they add nothing else $ :)
Yeah they probably will next generation and with none of this "Look its 720p!... but oh wait its actually 640p". Rag on the Wii all you want, but it did come as advertised.

Ok so excuse me for being ignorant but how much would installing a system tht would allow their console play DVD's cost? I'm gonna go and assume that it's not much and wouldn't impact someone considering buying a Wii much. But seriously, I'd love to know.
