I think it will do even worse than it's doing in North America and Japan. It's even more expensive over there, and for that higher price cows get worse backwards compatability.
Yeah it looks like it will bomb here...I see a lot of people turned off by price and lack of killer apps (cows don't say Motorstorm and R:FOM please, we need FF and MGS) and going 360 or Wii instead.

Only if by "stealth series" you consider game/movie hybrids which really are not that related to stealth games. If you want real stealth then go Thief of Splinter Cell. MGS is a great series, but really, it's stealth component isn't all that good.

MGS is a great series, but really, it's stealth component isn't all that good. I don't think a game with that many great boss battles and that kind of online introduced can be considered just a stealth game. MGS has so much more to it.
everyone like their sony namebrand so who knows. its hard to tell. Sony walkman, Sony Cd, Sony cdplayer, Sony pc, Sony music and Sony movies. i remenber back in the day before ps1 came out if you had anything with Sony it was the best. now days half the people still think the same, specially poor countries. i think if sony dominates the whole enterntainment market it would be like Umbrella in resident evil. Sony toilet paper, Sony tropical juice, Sony shoes :( , Sony eggs, Houses made by Sony, Sony machine gun, Sony feet powders, Nasa would sell all its share to Sony so Sony would have had a Sony space station. and everything would be install with a cell proccessor even the toilet paper.

it will do about the same in Europe as NA and Japan just because Europe is really supportive of Sony. But in truth i dont think it will save the Ps3. I really think there will be a recall of PS3's soon. And according to Gamestop employees it looks like it will be happening.

PS3 will fire out of the gates selling out everywhere, any one who thinks otehrwise is crazy. However, after its initial burst I think it will struggle big time. Its so over priced in Europe, where the PS2 did so well mainly because Sony got its pricing spot on. Europe is full of casuals and they will NOT be prepared to fork over that much money. Long term PS3 will struggle, although I don't think the 360 will be a powerhouse either.
personally i think this debate will goon for along time, the ps3 and 360 will share common ground in terms of sales, the wii will sell more. Just my opinion.
Will it do as good as PS1 and PS2? Probably not. The competition is too good for another landslide this time around.
But I don't think it wil be a failure either. Unless the only measure of success is exceeding the PS2 sales. If that is the only scenario that they'll call PS3 a success then yes it wil bomb.
