With the the few adapters out there for 360 and ps3; is Sony or MS going to be implimenting adapters that will work with most modern day keyboards and mice without the faulty input lag?  Should they?  Wouldn't it be smart so they can snag away some of the PC audience?

On that note; what about competitive gaming like MLG, will they allow it if its built in to the systems?

You can use PS3/xbox controllers on PC. I don't see why they wont try.

Probably not, most people wouldn't use it and those that did would have an unfair advantage, so it would probably just end up the same way PS3's mouse/keyboard support did.

Doubt it, a controller keeps things on a level playing field. Apart from those quick trigger idiots.

Well adapters like eagle eye and xim allow for users to take advantage of mouse/keyboard option, so apart from spending more money on an adapter, they can't really stop people from doing it. The only advantage is MLG which obviously doesn't allow people from using those adapters. Would be hilarious if you showed up to an MLG event with your xbox, mouse and keyboard LOL

If any of the next-gen consoles offer proper mouse and keyboard support for FPS games, that'd be awesome. Whenever I played KZ3, I always wished it had mouse and keyboard support.

This

You can still plug in a kb/m to type in stuff, like codes and text messaging.

The people at Microsoft will just say that you don't need a mouse and keyboard because with Kinect 2.0 you are the keyboard and mouse oooooooo. With Sony they'll probably give you Keyboard and mouse support on the PS4 but then take it away a year later because obviously people who use a mouse and keyboard are just hackers who are out to steal games...

You would most likely be kicked out of the tournament. Yes there are 3rd party devices that let you use KB/M but most console games are designed with aim assist which ruins the use of a mouse and are not officially supported from MS and Sony.

If they did, Then it wouldn't be a console any more, You have the choice on PC, You don't on consoles Also from a logical point, I don't think KB&M on consoles is viable, And most console gamers won't bother using it.

Actually I like the fact that consoles have a universal controller. That way I know that every player in a match is on an equal footing. Also, the controller is simple, you have 4 face buttons, 2 triggers, 2 shoulder buttons and a D-pad/Thumbstick. On the PC, I have to contend with a massive array of keys. Now before you jump down my throat, I game on PC.

It has input lag that is unbearable without the adapter though, my question is will they implement adapters that remove the input lag?

I know nothing of this lag you speak of. But I also have yet to use a keyboard and/or mouse on my PS3.

Yeah, consoles should have keyboard and mouse controls, VGA ports, an output for speakers, upgradable GPU, CPU and RAM and they should also run Windows and/or Linux. That sounds like a great idea.

PS3 had Mouse and Keyboard compatibilty with some games. As with Xbox I believe.

but not everyone has access to one at all times. Controlers that come with the console are the way to go cause it's a sure fire way for someone to play the game.

Also if the PS4 and Xbox 720 have full Keyboard and Mouse Support, then what's the point of getting one when you can get a PC?

That's like saying why get an Xbox because you can use an xbox controller on PC. Not to mention other variables at play such as online services, netflix, blu-ray ect.

Highly doubt it. It would give an unfair advantage on big game genres like FPS and RTS. Consoles are living room experiences, that's how they're marketed as well. Controller>keyboard+mouse btw.

That's different. He is talking about not having K/M at all. You are talking about devs not supporting it in some games to keep the gameplay balanced. I support that, but to exclude K/M support all together so that devs don't even have an option to use it, nor the gamers is ignorant. More options is always a good thing. For something like a FPS, it makes sense to either exclude K/M support in a console game or exclude controller and only support K/M. That would keep that type of game balanced. But for others like platformers, there would be no advantage either way, so why not include support for both? I am for excluding from games that would hurt the fun factor for multiplayer, but I am not for excluding the option altogether so that devs have no option.

Eeeeeh. I don't wannaaaa. :P

Actually, the first video games I played where learning games on PC from my school. And they where on keyboard and mouse. I am just fine with the standards split between a user interface one might see on the typical console vs the typical PC set up. And I would not want to face a player who has the unfair advantage, but I would think these things would be sorted out by the devs before hand. (like dedicated matchmaking for those with certain hardware SKU's)
