I think that when PSN finally gets the in-game XMB and Home update, it will be equal, or superior to XBL. And I would also like to remind you that PSN is FREE while XBL costs $$.
I enjoy PSN as it is currently, but I don't think it has nearly as many features as xbox live. That could be changing very soon though and I think PSN could end up just as good or better in time. We'll have to wait and see. I'll I really want is private chat so I can talk to friends while we're playing games, that's the only real feature I want it to have soon. It is a killer service for free though.

ive never lagged on my ps3 and i love playing online.
and for the sake of this argument, ps3 online is free while xbl costs money. and with that money (i think its 50 bucks a year?) the price of the 360 adds up to more than the ps3. 80 gb ps3 is 500 bucks and 360 is what..280 or something? so yeah, if they come out with another system in maybe 5-7 years, youll be saving some money if you get ps3/psn.

In userbase? Thats debatable, considering how Socom was the most popular online game last gen. And how anyone who owns a ps3 can jump online since its free, and comes included with an ethernet cable and wifi.Â
Feature-wise, PSN may catch up and surpass XBL, but having used both, XBL is more user-friendly IMO, all it needs is a built-in web browser. Also the best feature of XBL is the community, 11 million members and counting compared to however many people. Price doesn't bother me, besides, if I drop $500 for a console, the least they could do is give me free online.
in freeness it has already surpassed it. of course in the future it will be quite a contender. once a lot of people have ps3's the user network will be able to compete, and feature wise it will probably have the edge. oh and its free

I'm sick and tired of people saying that the PSN has crappy service. Why is it that almost all of the games we've played online so far are lag-free? And why are we hearing that games in XBL are suffering from lag?
I think people are taking for granted that with the PS3, ANYONE is able to play online and that is huge. I've always hated and never payed for online service but with the PS3, it was my first experience with console gaming and I'm sure it is for many others too. Face it, PSN and XBL are not much different but even if XBL is better, it's only by a little and it's definitely nothing to brag about.
Yeah all the extas are good if you're on live 24/7, but if you're like me and just need to play against friends online the other two onlines are great for their price (free!).
I don't understand why people say XBL is better. It has laggy servers and a price. PSN is free and there's no lag. Plus, when Home comes out and achievements and awards across all games comes out, it will beat XBL for sure.
