Remedy are very experienced PC developers and I'm sure they know about these issues and will have sway getting Microsoft's priorities in line, I'm sure the problems will be rectified by the time it comes around.

Absolutely, I don't see any reason why this is going to be any different from Halo on Windows Vista. It's the same exact scenario. History is repeating itself.

Like I said, with Remedy's experience in the PC field, they'll likely or already have addressed their concerns with Microsoft about the restrictions surrounding the current state of UMP and high end games and the negative effects it will have. I have no doubts that Microsoft is going to code in exceptions for things like this going forward so these issues will not exist, they're aware of these things, and the last thing I can see them wanting to do is screw it all up before it starts.

If there's one thing people should know about Microsoft, it's that when something isn't working and people are bitching, they fix it.

What I would buy on for pc in order of best to worst:

1) Gog

2) Steam and bundle things related to it (bundlestars and humblebundle pretty much)

3) Hard copy

4) Origin because I've got enough free stuff from them that I at least would buy there if it was exclusive.

I won't get windows 10 due to the clear invasion of privacy issues that involve upgrading + the lack of support on games for windows 10.

Dafuq are you talking about, everything works, and the very, very, very few things that do not, run in compatibility mode, problem solved...

I swear people are doing that "XP for life!" shit again with Windows 7, it's a much better OS, get with the times.

Even if it is not fixed on time.... What is keeping you from buying it at a later date when the Windows Store issues are worked out? QB is not going to magically disappear shortly after it releases. Be patient and buy it when you feel the time is right. The PC version is still going to be better than the XB1 version. Be grateful that it is coming to PC.

Windows 10 is actually better in every single aspect than Windows 7 but it's its shop and UWP limitation that might bug out some people, like lack of v-sync toggle.

Sales-wise, it will flop for sure. Performance-wise, we have to wait and see.

It won't flop, it'll be profitable, but won't sell as much as it should. Poor decisions from M$ killed Alan Wake, and I think Quantum Break is next.

Yep, and it's all thanks to the shitty Windows Store they're selling it on. It's too bad because Remedy are a good developer.

don't get me wrong , I'm grateful that it's coming to PC and I really want to see how it looks on DX12 however GOW-Ultimate Edition rocky lunch and Microsoft's bad resume with PC gaming made it a bit harder for me to trust them again but I'll take your advice and wait for the right time

No, people will buy it anyway and support Microsoft shady practices because they cant wait to play something that is at this time only hype. MS have nothing to lose and a monopoly on PC gamers to gain.

Yes it will flop big time. It's windows 10 only, windows store only and has very high system requirements. PC gamers are not going to go out and buy this game in big numbers.

This! While I got the Xbox One version, I'll be playing it on that first while the issues for Windows 10 is dealt with, I'll be busy with the console version first, then on my next play, I'll be playing the PC version next since I get it for free when I pre-order the digital version on Xbox One. Seeing it come to PC is all that matters in the end.

Some people aren't too fond of the idea of their OS monitoring everything they do right down to how many pictures they open and how many minutes they leave their web browser open for

My point is that how are we suppose to know if it flopped or not? will the sales figures include the free copies given away?

Very true, I think it will be something to keep an eye on. I would assume its only games sold from the pc store, but MS will probably try to spin it

At first, yeah, gamers seem to be shying away from Windows Store with all its problems.

But MS and Remedy are experienced companies. If they listen to gamers, actually improve on the problems this can still be a hit.

Just like any game on PC it doesn't need to sell millions day one to become a hit.

PC version barely saved the IP. M$' poor decisions killed the franchise, then it was brought back from the dead when Remedy got the rights to publish it on Steam. But still we are not sure, if we are going to see the sequel (chances are higher thanks to Steam sales).

M$ is making bad decisions with Quantum Break as well, and the IP is owned by M$, so Remedy don't have rights to publish it the way they want. Even well known franchises like Tomb Raider aren't selling much on Xbox One.

Quantum Break is a new IP, it won't be a huge success IMO, and PC version sales will be killed by M$' poor decisions.

IF this game was on STEAM , most probably i would give it a chance on its first big price cut. But now ? No way !

Then developers and publishers crying about PCs extensive piracy. I dont get why is so bad for developers/companies to release their games on STEAM as well as their own platform.

The only thing is happening is for them to lose money. For example i used ORIGIN for 3-4 games up till now and i never ever logged in there again .. So what if i had paid the same amounts of money for STEAM versions and at the same time they had a small chance to own my money of low budget games since now ... i wont even bother to check what else Origin offers other the specific games i want to play !

Now we have Uplay and Origin and Windows 10 store and this and that . They only losing money in the long run imho and for that matter they should stop crying over piracy when they giving even more reasons for PC gamers to pirate games.

Yeah you're right.

Let's hope they fix the Windows Store issues before the release of QB , i really want the game to make it.
