Lets be honest the old Rare died as soon as MS bought them. The only good game they've really made since then was Kameo.

How many people can be in a room at one time with this game? Could you join up with other people and create an armada? Or would you just end up ruling the empty sea?

I still think this game looks fun...for a while. What's wrong with having 20-30 hours of fun and then putting your toy away?

I don't even like multiplayer games, but I'm loving Sea of Thieves. It took me quite a few hours to figure out what the point of the game was because it doesn't hold your hand. If someone says that they do not like sea of thieves, they are playing it wrong.

I can easily see this being my personal goty 2018. I also see myself spending more time with the game than I did Zelda Botw(200hrs on 1 save and about 70hrs on another)

Rare ended with Kinect.

Rare has kept afloat by remastering their old games. SoT proves that they simply do not have what it takes to make current gen games.

So, they will go under.

No, it will be successful in due time, and be a niche game.

It a shame that it had a potential to be a revolutionary breakout game, had it launched properly, i.e. with more depth and content.

MS has shutdown project and killed studios WITHOUT even releasing the games the studios were working on.

The backlash and money lost on actually releasing this game will probably be more than the entire studio of Rare is even worth right now.

Who knows OP. It's tough to say what will happen to them. I hope MS doesn't close them down but you have to wonder why Lionead was closed and Fable cancelled while Rare was allowed to continue working on this trash. Someone at MS is dong a very bad job at curating these studios. At the very least I'm sure Fable would have had more content and been a more fleshed out game than this Sea of Flops. The game is a total scam.

How can you possibly spend that much time with Sea of Thieves without being bored out of your mind? The average person will play the game 5-10 hours before they realize there is nothing else worthwhile and there is no point of continuing to play it. I gave the game 5/10. We had some laughs while we played it, but the sea is shallow as fuuck.

MS need to keep what little they have left. But if MS do decide to do what they do best then it could be better for the people working at Rare and for gamers in the long run. They will likely reform under a new studio name and announce a new crowdfunded game for PC (possibly consoles too) that will probably be well received and then having learned from their mistakes go on to do much greater things in the future.

I said this before, I think at this point MS should close RARE and have other developers work on the IPs like Nintendo does eg Metroid with Team Ninja.

It's very expensive to keep a talentless developer around and their IPs are going to waste. RARE is just a name now. Take Killer Instinct, RARE have nothing to do with that now, and it's a pretty decent game. Personally I think it would be better if it wasn't a season based thing, but hey. Imagine all of RAREs lovely IPs each in the right hands.

Why I dislike the game, it has potential and the developer while they are selling a $60 game with little to no content is a capable studio with ideas so I wouldn't want them to fall of the edge of a cliff.

That being said Sea of Thieves is one of the biggest disappointments this generation to me. I REALLY wanted it to be a amazing game I could play for hours and hours with or without friends.

They haven't really made anything decent for A LONG time. And they haven't made anything awesome and stand out since the N64.

I guess you guys missed the article about 1 milliom players in a 48 hour period. Game is consistently in top 10 on twitch. Rare has a gem on its hands and will only keep growing. Seems like you guys are the minority in thinking the game failed. Travel outside of gamespot or maybe read the news on the front page.
