This is also being released for the 360.
Does anyone know if the servers will be shared between both platforms?
Also could any PC player let me know how badly this game has been 'xboxed'?

I doubt the game will even end up comming to 360.
Looking at its requirements and phenominal size (24gbs standard no patches)
Its like the 360 verison of Huxley its gone AFK, while the PC american one has been re confirmed by the devs. Not that the game is looking that good anyway...

24GB? pft thats small seeing that FFXI is like 32GB +
And yes AoC 360 will be sharing the same PC servers, and you will have to pay the full subscription on top of your XBLG fee. Though you can play it with a silver account as well.

32gb stand alone or with expansions? :|24GB? pft thats small seeing that FFXI is like 32GB +

AoC is 24gb stand alone, and its size inflated after launch with patch releases, and will continue to do so.
And exactly does FFXI work on consoles with its '32gb' footprint exactly?......
Oh large text sucks.
Just a tad obnoxius isnt it?

We were talking just about initial game without expansions. Or at least someone mentioned it.

It's compressed a lot on 360. FFXI for PC without any expansions is 11Gigs I think.

The initial worry was 24 GBs of data. I presented a game that took even more. Regardless of the surrounding circumstances, AoC's size isn't the issue. If you have doubts about this making to the console, 24GB is hardly large enough bring it up as a reason.
This is an MMO we're talking about here.
Btw, I'm aiming for "loud and obnoxious."
Funcom is aiming for shared servers but I'm a bit sceptical.RK-MaraThis may prove problematic. From what I've heard from beta testers, AoC is even more keyboard-friendly than the infamous WoW. WoW needs the keyboard due to the need for a lot of hotkeys, and I'm told AoC is even worse with that need.

Why can't 360 owners who want to play simply buy a wireless keyboard?
What annoys me about this entire thread, is the fact that Xbox 360 already has a MMORPG that already crushes the concerns brought up. I think its because people are treating this like every other game.
MMOGs for 360 have different rules/restriction than other XBL titles. For one, it doesn't use XBL service. The developer uses their own dedicated servers and charge seperately for them. Achievements are optional. HDD is required with mandatory installations. Keyboards while not mandatory, is practically required to play.
As for space, expansion packs are installed, but most data is compressed and streamed of the disc "when needed" tough luck if you have only a 20GB.

Similar to what PSU (Phantasy Star Universe) sported, I mean, being Gold + paying for the subscription or being Silver + paying for the subscription.
Yes, it will share servers with PC version, It's a financial necessity for every console MMOAdrianWerner
Good news for PvPers playing on a PC. They will beat 360 gamers anytime due to better controls :)

And if the 360'er is sporting a keyboard, too? (From an earlier post, it seems AoC will support keyboards over the 360's USB port)[QUOTE="Blue-Sky"][QUOTE="skrat_01"]I doubt the game will even end up comming to 360.

FFXI was the same way. Since it went through the Play network instead of Live, you could play it with only a Silver account.Apperently thats why the game is instanced, and 100 player limit per zone/isntance.Meu2k7
Obvious RAM limitation in the 360. And to believe that MS wanted the 360 to have just 256mb shared RAM until Epic asked them to make it 512mb. Could you imagine how badly watered down Conan would be if that RAM increase never happened?

I haven't played AoC, but 100 person per instance limit for an MMORPG sounds rather shallow. Any other limitations you have noticed?

I don't play it. I don't have the spare money to be paying $15 a month to play one game. I can't give the time it needs for $15 a month to make sense.

When EQ was at it's peak it usually topped out at around 100 people per zone, AoC sounds very similar.[QUOTE="PandaBear86"][QUOTE="Jade_Monkey"][QUOTE="PandaBear86"]Obvious RAM limitation in the 360. But could the area? There's both technological limitations and geographic limitations to any multiplayer scenario. If you want lots of players, you're gonna need a big enough space to allow them (and any AI-controlled characters/enemies) to maneuver.I don't think so because the game isn't published by MS and there is no sign of Live service in AoC.MMOs are exempt from the Live rule, as seen by Final Fantasy XI and Phantasy Star Universe.

The one thing that's' really bothering me with AoC is the instancing. There's absolutely no excuses for being on the SAME SERVER, but not be in the same instance of a town. It's ridiculous. You can switch instances, but if you're in a party and you have two other buddies that want to play, it's a hassel. This is supposed to be an mmo afterall.mismajor99
I dont see the problem, more space to get on with things. ITs not like WoW had any zones over 100 players except Towns ( Which have nothing but Auction houses relevant to players ) , and *some* grind spots like Nagrand... which are always heavily overflowed as it is.

Also, the already high systems specs would be higher if that happened.

I could never get into WoW, but for other reasons, I'm talking about AoC. It's a pain either way.
This is the one time where I'm doing to say controller will beat the crap out of KB&M. The PVP in this game is a FIGHTING GAME...a crude one but still a fighting game. Controller will reign supreme over KB&M.usmcjdk6
you would think, for the basic directional swings, the controller seems much better suited, BUT, there are a ton of hotkeys I use on a constant basis. There's just no way to utilize all of them on a gamepad without extra menus and whatnot. I need about 20 hotkeys total right now as it is.

Not enough buttons, at level 21 I already have over 20 buttons hotkeyed, as a neccessity. Everything moves rather fast so clicking isn't an option.

I think its safe to say by now that USMCJDK6 is just trolling us specifically, no point in responding.
