no, simply because nvidia dont have the marketing and budgets of sony. were not going to be seeing TV adds and newspaper adds for the card...getting ppl interested in it. the only ppl who will know about it are those who are interested in PC hardware and some ppl who are in the market for a GPU.
it looks like a crackin card though....definately worth a look. sli those bad boys and uve got some serious grunt under the hood. one card is near GTX performance for alot less money...yes please.
I can bet it will. $230 for the performance on a $600 machine is a killer...True_Gamer_
it probably will considering basically everything else is outselling the PS3 except for fruitcakes, but that might change since it is the holidays.

[QUOTE="JiveT"]I guess they figure they will sell a few million worldwide? I don't know where you get numbers for PC video card sales.Mizarus
nvidia ussualy post a sales figure somewhere
im pretty sure I read someplace nVidia has already sold 14 or 15 million 8800 series cards. Or maybe it was 8000 series so maybe 5-6 million of them would be 8800's. I'm interested to find out the real numbers though.

Why do you care if it does? Heil68Because everyone cares about sales. If it sells more it is better.

yeah i dont care either, but they do post it somewhere, i saw the charts a few times but never paid any attention to them, i dont care how much 8800's have been sold, all i care is that id like to own one =p
As it stands the 8800 GT is a amazing piece of hardware.. From the benchmarks alone I would be bold enough to say, its one of the best video cards ever made in comparative to all the gens.. $230 and it almost rivals the GTX, a card more then 2x the cost.sSubZerOo
yup, Nvidia is going to hit ATI hard with this one, i wonder how they will respond to that, also i want to see the 9xxx family

yea because thats all it takes to play PC games is this card. you forgot the other 700-800 dollars you need so the card will actully work

yea most people would have to do that to, and at that point u might want to just buy a whole new rig
my PC is newer, i bought it so i could upgrade toa gaming rig if i wanted to and i think i will around spring time, it will cost me about 500 bucks for some ram and a graphics card and a new HD moniter

Why? Everything you just listed isn't even needed to run a new GPU.

i used to be really into pc gaming....but i started to stray highly into consoles after the ps2 came out
my pc has been really neglected, from a gameplay standpoint, and its seriously due for a complete overhaul. thats gonna cost me pretty penny, plus ive never been one of those people who view upgrading their pc as "half the fun". i think its expensive, time consuming, and sometimes annoying

An oveclocked E4600 will be just fine and the 8800GT isnt even half as power hungry as the 8800GTX...so a $150 CPU will be just fine if you have a PCIE mobo which is 3 years old...or costs $50

and whats the point of buying this then? my ram cant run any newer games, my moniter isnt HD and it would over heat with my stock crappy fan. so i should just buy this to look at

Except that to hold the C2D CPU's, you need newer motherboards which are still pretty expensive, especially if you want one that's known to be stable and quality (e.g., Asus).
And while the 8800GTX is a beast, the 8800GT's aren't exactly light on power either. At least a 450W to 500W PSU, perhaps more if you want to go SLi with it some point later.

Doesn't matter, Nvidia makes money on both products
