Say what you will about Ryse but there's a very good reason why it has been the undisputed graphics king since the start of this gen. You think GOW will finally dethrone it?
lol hope you're not trying to hard to give too much props for 1 one of the 2 games that MS has that had decent graphics this gen.
Ryse looked fantastic for the time it released, but It's 2018 now bud.
Ryse has been topped in the graphics dept since The Order 1886 and it never went back.
Now I know you're comparing Ryse to God of War because they are both Hack n Slash but lets not forget Ryse is a linear game while God of War is open world now.
Despite that fact, this is how GOW looks..

Er, graphics king? Battlefield 1 beat it when it came out, and Battlefront 2 furthers it? Hell, even Horizon Zero Dawn has better graphics. Not to mention PC Witcher 3, Kingdom Come, etc.
@lifelessablaze: Ryse has been dethroned by TO 1886 ,UC4 and HZD GTFO lol! Hell even Infamous SS looked better and it came out about 6 months after. GoW is in another league.
I think God of War looks great unfortunately for me I just completely lost interest in the franchise and nothing of what I’ve seen on the game has made interested in it at all.
Ryse is a very beautiful looking game as well and I actually enjoyed playing it.
Ryse looked pretty damn great. There are some games these days that look better, but not a whole lot. Gameplay was pure crap though.
Uncharted 4 only has a few areas that look better than Ryse, but U4 in many places doesn't even beat U3 in graphics. Gameplay was boring.
Horzion looks pretty for the most part, but the foliage is far behind Ryse. It was static, and didn't carry shadows, versus Ryse fully malleable folliage with translucent leaves blowing in the wind. Horizon character models are typically better looking though. Gameplay was OK, but after a while really repetitive.
GOW looks pretty good. It will beat Ryse out. Gameplay though... remains to be seen. As long as it shies away from quicktime events and has some kind of gameplay evolution throughout it will be a better game no matter what.

@hrt_rulz01: yeah I finished the Ryse campaign several times and I also enjoyed it online, I thought it was a good game overall.
As for the Topic, I certainly hope that one of the highest-profile games released 5 years later looks better, especially with God of War there is a lot of emphasis on how it looks pre-release, I think it looks very good by the way.

Man I remember when I saw the premiere for the first time. I thought nothing could beat Ryse when it came to graphics , but now I see it and now I wonder why this game age badly graphics wise .

lol try harder. It didnt took to long to be surpassed by The Order 1886, then Uncharted 4, then Infamous SS, then Horizon Zero Dawn... and soon God of War. This only counting exclusives, let alone amazing looking 3rd party games like The Witcher 3, Assassin's Creed Unity, Rise of the Tomb Raider, etc, etc, etc

Ryse was a pretty game when it came out for the Xbox One. Didn't like the game too much though, it was okay. In terms of graphics? God of War will slay it in every department.
Ryse: Son of Rome was all about the Roman Empire & God of War 4 is all about Norse Mythology. Never compare the two mind you!
And I happen to love anything in mythology stuff to historians as well so hey, I'm excited for God of War 4 set in Norse Mythology as I was to Ryse in Roman Empire.
